Forget Not All His Benefits
Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed. Psalm 103:1-6
Since God has created us then He makes sense that He can solve all our problems, forgive all our iniquities, heal all our diseases, redeem our life from destruction, crown us with lovingkindness and tender mercies, satisfy our mouth with good things, so that our youth is renewed like the eagle's and execute righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. God’s word is unchanging:
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. "Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? "Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:7-11
Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. "Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, 'Get justice for me from my adversary.' "And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 'yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.' " Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. "And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? "I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:1-8
Because God is our Father and because we have been born again and are His children through the blood of Jesus we have inherited all things (Acts 20:32, Ephesians 1:11, 1 Peter 3:9). Hence the Lord has told us to pray and not lose heart for God shall avenge speedily is own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them. He has stated “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” He has told us “how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11)!
It doesn’t matter what the need is God is able to meet the need. No problem or sickness is too big or too small that He cannot handle or sickness that He cannot heal! And there is no enemy of His people that He cannot destroy for Jesus was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. God’s word is unchanging:
For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us, you also helping together in prayer for us, that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the gift granted to us through many. 2 Corinthians 1:8-11
Yes, we praise God not because of the trouble that comes to us thereby making us burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despair even of life, but because we have the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us and does deliver us and will continue to do so.
It was naturally that when the disciples saw that their boat was filling with water their minds perceived danger and they were fearful and ran to Jesus. But what did Jesus say when He woke up? And he said unto them, Why are ye fearful? Have ye not yet faith? (Mark.4:40)
If Jesus was in the boat, what were they worried about? Jesus is always in the boat with us. What are we worried about? We are just to have faith and give thanks always for all things in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for He will perfect all that concerns us as in Christ we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, (Ephesians1:11). Everything that God is doing, He is doing according to the counsel of His own will. Yes, God rules over all and we can trust His way and His word. His word is unchanging:
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. "For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? God is my strength and power, And He makes my way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:31-33
Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me." Psalm 50:15
"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation." Psalm 91:14-16
