LOVE IS ACTION

 Faith vs. Works

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45).

Your heart must be established in faith in order to move in the area of your need. Faith is believing in your heart that God's Word is true and that belief is so established, that out of the abundance of your heart your mouth speaks God's promises as though they were already in existence. The only way to have faith coming out of your mouth is to have your heart established in His Word.

Legalism says, "If I can be good enough, God will see my good works and answer my prayer." Faith says, "I believe God's promise without wavering, in spite of what I see or hear." Once I heard a man say if everything was established on works, then at least he would be able to see what's happening. Unfortunately, if everything were based on works, he would have never seen anything happen. Why? Because our works can never be good enough to accomplish anything remotely close to what God can accomplish through us by faith.

If your destiny was depending upon your works and how good you are, then what would your destiny be? The truth is, if our destiny depended on our works, we would have legalism once again. Grace is much better.

Paul worked hard in the books of Galatians and Colossians to get legalism out of the church. Our best works developed from the mind and imagination of man will pale by comparison to what one can do who is led by the Spirit of God and walking in faith.

The Word says that out of the abundance of the heart that our mouth speaks. I propose that it's much better to have faith on our lips than to have works. Faith is a rest and that's where God wants us. (Heb. 4:11.) When we rely on works above faith, we are subtly saying that our works will accomplish more than what God can accomplish through faith in His Word.

So take a rest from your work and walk in faith.

Power From Jesus’ Body To Yours

…“Take, eat; this is My body.” Matthew 26:26

Can you imagine the Lord sick, nursing a cold or fever while He walked on earth? No, our Lord Jesus was never sick! He was vibrant, full of life and full of health. When He told His disciples, “Take, eat; this is My body”, they could practically visualize what it meant because they had lived and walked with this Man. They had seen people without hands or feet made whole when they touched His body. (Matthew 15:30–31)

Even His clothes were soaked with His health! A woman who had a bleeding condition for 12 years — no doctor could cure her — was healed immediately when she touched the hem of His garment. If the hem of His garment was soaked with His health, vibrancy, energy and divine radiance, how much more His body!

You know, some of the most encouraging verses in the Gospels are these: “And as many as touched Him were made well” (Mark 6:56), for “power went out from Him and healed them all”. (Luke 6:19) I love those verses! That is our Jesus!

The Bible says that they put sick people along the streets, and Jesus walked around, touched them and healed them. Now, you see movie stars doing this: They run here and there, they slap their fans’ hands, but nobody gets healed. But wherever Jesus walked, whoever He touched, He healed. Picture this: A trail of people. Those in front of Jesus are lying down, but those behind Him whom He has touched are leaping with joy and following Him! That is how Jesus healed the sick.

So that night, when He said, “Take, eat; this is My body,” as He broke the bread and gave it to His disciples to eat, they knew what it meant. They were probably thinking, “We are going to ingest His health into our bodies! Hallelujah!”

That is what you must believe when you partake of the Holy Communion. It is not just a ritual or symbolic act. No, you must believe that He is the true bread from heaven who took your cancer, diabetes and heart disease, so that you can have His supernatural health! And when you eat of His broken body with this revelation, you will have life in abundance and the health of the Lord!
Thought For The Day
Believe that Jesus is the true bread from heaven who took your cancer, diabetes and heart disease, so that you can have His supernatural health

JESUS  CHRIST WAS AND IS A MAN OF WAR AND SO SHOULD WE BE AND NOT PACIFISTS , COWARDS OR FAIRIES

Exodus 15 3 The LORD is a man of war; The LORD is His name.

Matthew 11 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

LOVE IS NOT WORDS. JESUS LOVE WAS ACTION...

HE DIDN'T WALK AROUND SAYING I LOVE YOU!! NO, JESUS SHOWED EVERYONE HE CAME IN CONTACT WITH LOVE IN ACTION. HE NEVER LEFT THEM THE WAY HE FOUND THEM.

LOVE IS NOT LIP SERVICE.

THEY GOT THIS LOVE THING ALL WRONG. LOVE DIED ON A CROSS FOR ALL MANKIND.

REAL LOVE WON'T ALLOW THE DEVIL TO KEEP HOLD ON ANOTHER. EVEN WHEN THEY DON'T ASK FOR IT OR KNOW THEY NEED IT.

CHRISTIANS ARE TO BUSY WASTING TIME ON THE WRONG THINGS IN THEIR SO CALLED HOLY GHOST PARTIES WITH THEIR SOCIAL GROUPS AND THE DEVIL IS WREAKING HAVOC IN THE LIVES OF THE PRECIOUS ONES JESUS CAME TO SAVE, HEAL AND DELIVER. THE CHURCH NEEDS TO MOVE OUT OF THE BUILDING.... INTO THE WORLD FOLLOWING JESUS EXAMPLE OF LOVE IN ACTION. ALL THE REST IS A WASTE OF TIME..

REVELATIONS 19:11    Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
12    His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
13    He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
14    And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
15    Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16    And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Sky Is The Limit!

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over {and} above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams] To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it). Ephesians 3:20 -21 Amplified Bible

Christians are their worst enemy for they themselves put limits on themselves and on what God can and cannot do even though by the power  that is at work within us, God is able to do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams. Yes God want through the Holy Spirit influence every area of our thought lives, giving us creative ideas, inventions, visions, and dreams and help us have heaven’s best in all things, but we are the stumbling block. There is more to life than just being a saint and struggling with the mundane things of life. You can be a saint that is strong in the Lord in the power of His might, rooted and grounded in love, knowing the love of Christ be filled with all the fullness of God and doing great wonders and signs among the people?

God put no limits on what is people can achieve, have or be except the limits that they set on themselves! Unfortunately many of them become circus fleas who jump so much and no more! Fleas ride dogs and they jump. This is all they ever do, it would seem.  If you catch a flea and put it in a jar... with out even thinking it'll just jump right out.   But if you want to train that flea, put a lid on the jar. Then you can sit and watch it jump. The flea will start hitting its head on the lid of the jar. And every time it tries to get out.  You can come back in an hour. It will still be jumping, banging its head on that lid. Two hours it’s still jumping, still trying and whacking its head on that lid every time it tries.  Come back at some point though and it will still be jumping but not hitting it's head on that lid any more. That flea eventually learned to adjust its jump. And to always stop short of hurting itself.  That flea is trained and you can take the lid off and watch the flea jump. It will not jump out of that jar.  Not because it can't. That flea can see everything it wants, going on all around it.  But will never have it. Only because the flea no longer believes it can. And never will again. And unfortunately this happens with people who have bad experiences and hurts in life and don’t allow their faith to be stretched any more, they go so far in God and no further.  They had prayed and prayed and God didn’t seem to answer and now they don’t pray any more. But the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is unchanging:

Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Colossians 4:12

There are no shortages in heaven of anything including the mercy and grace and there should be no shortages on earth. God is gracious and good enough to meet as promised all the needs of His people if they will only trust and believe Him for it. His word is unchanging:

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8

Apostle Paul prayed for the faithful saints in Ephesus that the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ would grant them according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,  that Christ may dwell in their  hearts through faith; that they, being rooted and grounded in love,  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-  to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that they might be filled with all the fullness of God? Obviously you don’t have to be extremely intelligent to figure out that just because people are saints they are not filled with the fullness of God just like Barnabas was about whom the word of God states,   for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord (Acts 11:24). The bible also tells us that Stephen was a  man full of faith and power and the Holy Spirit who did great wonders and signs among the people (Acts 6:6-8).

There is this idea taught in some churches that we are all anointed ones and are full of the Holy Ghost? But if this is the case where are the works of great wonder and signs among the people? Nonexistent!  In the secular world people have no problem doing their all to achieve something even if it would cost them their life. In March 1923, in an interview with The New York Times, the British mountaineer George Leigh Mallory was asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest, and replied, 'Because it's there'. The answer became famous, not least because Mallory himself was lost on Everest in the following year. It was sometimes suggested that he and his fellow-climber Andrew Irvine, who were last seen 'going strong for the summit', might in fact have reached it before their deaths, but there was no proof.

In May 1999, 75 years later, the body of George Mallory was found on Everest, and the press coverage surrounding the discovery focused again on Mallory's 'Because it's there' as a statement summarizing the mountaineer's reasons for climbing. One such report quoted from Robert William Service's `Dauntless Quest', which was inspired by Mallory's words:

Why seek to scale Mount Everest,
Queen of the Air,
Why strive to crown that cruel crest
And deathward dare?
Said Mallory of dauntless quest

Christians have no enemy that God cannot defeat including their apathy, indifference, insensibility, lethargy, fears, and unbelief. Sickness, disease, poverty, lack and impossibility  are enemies that have already been defeated by Jesus on the cross of Calvary!  God who blessed His friends such as Abraham, Job, Joseph, David, Solomon,  and Jesus with tremendous riches and even power has not changed one bit. He is able to bless a billion times over those whose heart is perfect towards Him and seek to do His will, not their own! God is a God of blessing, a God of increase. He wants to take us to higher levels in every area of our life, but it’s up to us. We, in the body of Christ, need to change our thinking. We need to align our thoughts with God’s Word and His Will for our lives, and watch as He accomplishes things through us that previously we never dreamed of. His word is unchanging:

"So it shall be, when the LORD your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, "houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant-when you have eaten and are full- "then beware, lest you forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. "You shall fear the LORD your God and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name. Deuteronomy 6:10-13

"Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD:  Look to the rock from which you were hewn,  And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you;  For I called him alone,  And blessed him and increased him."  For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places;  He will make her wilderness like Eden,  And her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody. Isaiah 51:1-3

For thus says the LORD: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place.  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.  I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:10-14

COWARDS

Cowardly PC Pastors and Why They Won’t Take A Stand

October 1, 2013
by Associate Editor
Elmer Gantry
I am constantly asked, “Chuck, why don’t pastors take a stand and speak out?” I’ve been a pastor most of my adult life. I believe I am qualified to answer that question. Here is the stark reality: the vast majority of pastors today are “success” oriented. Beginning in Bible College or seminary, and continuing throughout a pastor’s ministerial life, the emphasis is success. And that means church growth, larger congregations, bigger buildings, bigger offerings, burgeoning statistics, greater notoriety, denominational praise, invitations to speak at conferences, applause from fellow ministers, not to mention the financial perks and benefits that come with pastoring a “successful” church.
And the way to learn how to build a successful church is to learn from those who have done it. Pastors regularly attend church growth conferences to learn from the “big” church pastors on how it’s done. They purchase books, magazines, newsletters, etc., that are all geared towards telling pastors how to build a successful church. They are constantly being schooled in the latest and greatest “how to” strategies of church growth and success. This usually entails more and more sophisticated programs, music, sound, lighting, atmosphere, classes, seminars, organization, etc. Everything, and I mean everything, is geared toward success as described in the aforementioned paragraph.
Most pastors today are in reality not spiritual shepherds as much as they are corporate CEOs.
Most pastors today are in reality not spiritual shepherds as much as they are corporate CEOs.The same mentality, philosophy, and strategy that drive corporate boardrooms also drive the boardrooms of modern churches — to a tee. Pastors act like CEOs, dress like CEOs, talk like CEOs, manage like CEOs, and think like CEOs.
Dare I say that even the way pastors and churches cater, and “reach out,” and “minister,” etc., has mostly to do with “good business.” Church members are babied and pacified and stroked and petted and fawned-over because it is “good business.” Today’s Christians are so spoiled and petted that any dereliction or lack of attention by a pastor, church, or staff usually results in them “moving their letter” down the street to a place that will more readily cater to their temperamental demands.
Have you not noticed how most pastors spiritualize away the great examples of Bible heroism and defiance against tyranny and despotism? Ask them point blank about Daniel and the lion’s den or the three Hebrew children in the burning fiery furnace or Queen Esther or scores and scores of other acts of defiance lauded in Holy Writ and they will say, “That was another time.” Or, they might say, “This shows God’s great deliverance and protection.” But the overriding principle that drove the great heroes of the faith to challenge and defy evil government is never even acknowledged, much less addressed.
The great lesson of the above-mentioned heroes and heroines is their willingness to defy evil authority—regardless of outcome.
The great lesson of the above-mentioned heroes and heroines is not that God delivered them, because many of them were NOT delivered. As Paul notes in Hebrews 11: “Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance…And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented…they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in caves of the earth.” (Hebrews 11:35-38 KJV). The great lesson of the above-mentioned heroes and heroines is their willingness to defy evil authority—regardless of outcome.
Listen to the three Hebrew children:
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden calf which thou hast set up.” (Daniel 3:16-18 KJV)
These men knew that God COULD deliver them, but they did not know if He WOULD deliver them. And to them, it didn’t matter: they were willing to defy the tyranny of King Nebuchadnezzar regardless. They were not going to bow to the unlawful, illegitimate authority of the state (in whatever form it appeared). That is the glaring lesson of every single one of these great stories of defiance.
Furthermore, most pastors and teachers absolutely refuse to tell the truth of Hebrews 11:34: “[They] waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” This Biblical passage lauds the courage of past believers who took up the sword against tyrants and despots. In the same breath that Paul extolled the sacrifice of believers who were willing to die for their faith, he also extolled the bravery of believers who were willing to fight for their faith. But you NEVER hear that from the vast majority of pastors today.
If you hear any mention of, say, America’s Founding Fathers from today’s pastors, it is that the founders were wrong, that they violated Romans 13, that God did not lead them to declare independence and revolt against the British Crown. Such is the ignorance and cowardice of today’s ministers.
And while we are on the subject, the misinterpretation of Romans 13 is one of the chief reasons why most pastors and churches are so utterly indifferent or nonplussed about resisting evil government. This is why my son and I coauthored the book, Romans 13: The True Meaning of Submission, which I encourage readers to obtain and share with as many of your Christian friends as possible. In the book, Tim and I prove from the entire Bible – including Romans 13 – that nowhere does God expect (much less demand) believers to submit to evil, wicked authority.
Tim (a constitutional attorney) and I coauthored a second book that is also relevant to this discussion. It is called To Keep or Not to Keep Why Christians Should Not Give up Their Guns. This book searches the entire Bible and conclusively proves that self-defense is not only a God-ordained right; it is a God-ordained DUTY—and that Christians are totally justified in NOT surrendering their means of self-defense to any civil authority.
The fact is that all of these great Bible stories of lawful, God-ordained defiance of unjust authority are totally ignored by the vast majority of today’s pastors and churches. None of these great Bible truths are made relevant to attempted acts of tyranny in today’s America. None of them.
To the average pastor, nothing is as anathema as controversy. And nothing is more controversial than politics.
Again, it is all about success. To the average pastor, nothing is as anathema as controversy. And nothing is more controversial than politics. Therefore, pastors are taught to avoid politics like the plague. Of course, they won’t tell you that the controversial nature of politics is the reason they avoid it; they will tell you that “God has not called me to get involved in politics,” or, “I’m trying to build a church,” or, “That’s not our mission,” or any number of other pious-sounding clichés. But the reality is they are trying to be successful, and they believe controversy hinders success.
That’s also why you seldom, if ever, hear “hard” sermons from the modern pulpit—even though that is exactly the kind of sermons that Jesus Himself preached (See John 6:60). To the success-driven religious CEO, people must always feel good; they  must be permanently ensconced in their comfort zone; and they must never be rebuked or informed of misconduct or irresponsibility. And as far as freedom goes, the shallowness of the average pulpit refuses to acknowledge the responsibility of the church to do anything to preserve it. All they talk about is praying for your political leaders and being good little subjects of the state.
Plus, don’t forget that most churches are up to their eyeballs in debt. Therefore, pastors are afraid if they offend people, offerings will go down and they might not be able to pay for all of those fancy buildings and exorbitant staff—not to mention their own personal financial perks might be endangered.
And, yes, I must also add that the 501c3 non-profit tax-exempt status most churches operate under poses a serious intimidation against the pastor and church, which keeps them from taking a stand or speaking out on issues that might be construed as political.
But here is the bottom line: as long as Christians in the pews continue to attend and financially support these stand-for-nothing churches, the churches will continue to languish in their indifference. After all, by the attendance and offerings of all of these people in the pews, pastors are being continually convinced that everything they have been taught is working: their churches are successful.
You don’t need a successful pastor; you need a truthful pastor.
The ONLY WAY Christians can start making a difference in their country is to GET OUT of these clueless, cowardly churches and find a pastor who is not afraid to be politically-incorrect, who is not afraid to preach and teach the biblical principles of liberty, and who is not afraid to preach and teach the principles of righteous defiance against any act of tyranny. Find a pastor who is not trying to be successful. You don’t need a successful pastor; you need a truthful pastor.
But this means that people in the pews must truly WANT to be in a church that takes a stand, doesn’t it? We have the kind of pastors and churches that we are willing to support. If that’s the case, Christians should stop complaining about the indifference of their pastors and simply accept the imminent slavery to which they are being led.###

MIRACLES

YOU NEED A MIRACLE TODAY

PSALMS 90:12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
13 Return, O LORD! How long? And have compassion on Your servants.
14 Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days!
15 Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, The years in which we have seen evil.
16 Let Your work appear to Your servants, And Your glory to their children.
17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.

JOHN 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples

JESUS SAID WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING! AND THAT IS WHY I CONSTANTLY HARPER ON MIRACLES BECAUSE PEOPLE NEED ALL KINDS OF MIRACLES INCLUDING FIRST THE NEW BIRTH AND THE BAPTISM OF THE SPIRIT, THEN PHYSICAL AND FINANCIAL HEALING, THEN THE SPIRIT OF POWER AND WISDOM AS PER ISAIAH 11:
Isaiah 11: 1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
2  The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3  His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4  But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

THE TRUTH IS GOD MADE YOU FOR MIRACLES AND MADE MIRACLES FOR YOU

THE CREATION OF HEAVEN AND EARTH WAS A MIRACLE AND SO WAS THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST FROM THE DEAD

SO WHY SHOULD GOD STOP DOING MIRACLES? HE DOESN'T

Acts 19:11 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul,

1 Corinthians 12:10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?

Galatians 3:5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? ---

Hebrews 2:4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

THE ADVERSARIES OF THE LORD SHALL BE BROKEN IN PIECES

1 Samuel 2: 1 And Hannah prayed and said: " My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.
2 " No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.
3 " Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the LORD is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.
4 " The bows of the mighty men are broken, And those who stumbled are girded with strength.
5 Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, And the hungry have ceased to hunger. Even the barren has borne seven, And she who has many children has become feeble.
6 " The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up.
7 The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.
8 He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. " For the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, And He has set the world upon them.
9 He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. " For by strength no man shall prevail.
10 The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken in pieces; From heaven He will thunder against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth. " He will give strength to His king, And exalt the horn of His anointed."

Through Our Weaknesses

One of the greatest examples in the Bible of God's grace in action is in Paul's life and the thorn in his flesh

To keep me from being puffed up and too much elated by the exceeding greatness (preeminence) of these revelations, there was given me a thorn (a splinter) in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to rack and buffet and harass me, to keep me from being excessively exalted (2 Cor. 12:7 AMP).

The Word is very clear that Paul's thorn was from Satan. It says "...there was given me a thorn (a splinter) in the flesh, a messenger of Satan..." (vs. 7). It was Satan who was trying to keep Paul from being too highly exalted by the awesomeness of what had been revealed to him - not God!

At this point, I think we need to clarify a misconception that has been taught in the church for centuries. Satan knew because of Paul's dramatic conversion, healing, revelation knowledge, and the anointing that was so powerful on his life, that Paul was a major threat to the kingdom of darkness. Satan knew that he must use all of his resources to destroy this man and his ministry. According to 2 Corinthians 12:7, Satan sent and assigned a messenger (fallen angel, demonic spirit) to torment Paul continually. Satan did not want Paul to be exalted in the ministry that laid the foundation for the Church.

"Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me" (2 Corinthians 2:8). Three different times Paul pleaded and begged God to make the thorn go away. God didn't ignore Paul. He just answered him and said: "My grace is enough for you; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in your weakness"(2 Corinthians 12:9 AMP).

God knew that if He just took away the thorn (the messenger from Satan), then Paul would not understand and experience the concept of the power of grace working through him to strengthen him to do the supernatural. God also knew that when Paul overcame the thorn through God's grace and by God's strength, that the thorn would no longer have any effect on Paul.

If God took the messenger from Satan away, then Paul would have had to petition God every time he was attacked. If God empowered Paul to resist the devil by grace, then Paul would be continuously empowered and protected. Through this, Paul was strengthened in grace and authority.

When you are facing a situation you don't want to face and the only solution you can see is for God to just take it away, then realize that God's grace is there to enable you to overcome the situation, so that it no longer can affect you negatively. It will have no power over you.

God's grace and strength empowers you to overcome the evil one and his attacks: "So you, my son, be strong (strengthened inwardly) in the grace (spiritual blessing) that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 2:1 AMP).
