The Glory Of The LORD
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:1-2
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12:
God never created His people to live and walk in smallness, unimportance, insignificance, defeat and failure but in victory and power and majesty and His glory! The American Heritage Dictionary defines “glory” as
glo·ry n., pl. glo·ries. 1. Great honor, praise, or distinction accorded by common consent; renown. 2. Something conferring honor or renown. 3. A highly praiseworthy asset. 4. Adoration, praise, and thanksgiving offered in worship. 5. Majestic beauty and splendor; resplendence. 6. The splendor and bliss of heaven; perfect happiness. 7. A height of achievement, enjoyment, or prosperity. 8. A halo, nimbus, or aureole. In this sense, also called gloriole.
The word “glory” encompasses many things including greatness, splendor, grandeur, nobility, magnificence, stateliness, , majesty, preeminence, distinction, prestige, prominence, renown, standing notability, fame, celebrity, importance, joy and triumph. Because of Jesus Christ and God’s glory, God’s true children are king’s kids and the inheritors of the whole universe. They are priceless because it cost God the life of His Son to redeem them. All things including all the power, authority, riches and resources of heaven and earth belong to them and they can partake of all of it whenever they want through the avenue of faith and grace and love! God’s word is unchanging:
'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the LORD of hosts. 'The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the LORD of hosts." Haggai 2:8-9
"And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. Luke 15:31
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come-all are yours. And you are Christ's, and Christ is God's. 1 Corinthians 3:21-23
Whatever God’s people are lacking, their heavenly Father has more than just enough for them and it’s all available to them through the avenue of faith. Faith not only makes heaven real on earth but it brings down all the riches and resources of heaven for any need they have and against any mountain or demon that they face. While the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people, our light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon us.
Yes, it’s time for us to arise and shine and let God’s glory be seen upon us including everything that God has and is, and this encompasses unlimited things. It’s time for us to be so filled with the light of God's glory and word that spiritual darkness wouldn't even have a place to hang around. Yes, the more we allow God's glory to consume our lives, the more radiant we will become and the less warfare we will have with spiritual darkness within our own minds and souls. Our light will so shine that, when we walk into an area that is dark, the light of the glory of God will cause demonic power to flee! We'll be like Peter whose very shadow healed the sick. We are called to have such measure of the glory on our lives and even more! We have Jesus Christ living inside of us and He sustains and rules the universe. There is no greater power or riches or glory than Jesus Christ. God’s word is unchanging:
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
You are witnesses, and God also, how devoutly and justly and blamelessly we behaved ourselves among you who believe; as you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children, that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory. For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the Word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the Word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe 1 Thessalonians 2:10-12
Yes, we are to walk in a supernatural boldness to proclaim the gospel with signs and wonders backing them up and demonstrate God’s glory in the work place where the lost, sick, and dying are. We are to live in a supernatural joy and see amazing miracles performed by the power of God through our love, faith and compassion. We are to pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit everywhere so that many shall be saved, healed, delivered, transformed, and empowered carrying the tangible anointing of the Holy Spirit. We are to move in the power of the Spirit and perform the works Christ has called us to do so that the glory on the latter day will be greater than the former. We are to carry so much of the Presence of God on us that people will fall down under the power because it will be like God Himself stepped in with us. All the workers got saved even though he said nothing! We are to be so saturated, filled and controlled by the Holy Ghost that the lost get in our presence they will feel and see Jesus. God’s word is unchanging:
Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus. When He saw their faith, He said to him, "Man, your sins are forgiven you." And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts? "Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Rise up and walk'? "But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"-He said to the man who was paralyzed, "I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen strange things today!" Luke 5:17-26
For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you. Deuteronomy 15:6
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:8-9
God keeps His promises – all of them! He has told us in 1 Peter 5:6-7 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you! God wants to bless and exalt His trusting ones and know of the power and authority He has given them! All things are under Jesus feet and hence they are under our feet also. We are head, not tail, above not beneath. We are royalty, King’s kids, sons and daughters of the King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s. We were called to inherit a blessing and to rule and reign with Christ even in the current time of life because we are seated with Christ in high places. The same blood and Spirit that is in Jesus is now flowing in our veins. And the same mighty power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come, is upon us and flowing through us!
It’s time for us not only do the works He did, which included healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, casting our demons, and raising the dead, but even GREATER works. The works of the Holy Spirit through the early church was only the beginning of the wonders God wants to do in the earth. The book of Acts has not been completed, the greatest signs and wonders are still to be seen and we are to do greater works and add to the book our own deeds and words! And yes we are to more closely conformed to the Lord in both character and power to be a Church without spot or wrinkle (Eph. 5:27) as well as experiencing and walking in the glory of God and His power!
Yes we are to walk worthy of God who called into His own kingdom and glory and display His power and glory around us through miracles, signs and wonders. God’s word is unchanging:
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
Yes, by faith and walking with God in a lifestyle of intimacy, holiness, obedience, and truth we can access the fullness of all God has for us now. Our sons and our daughters shall prophesy, our young men shall see visions, our old men shall dream dreams (Acts 2:17). We are called to receive divine revelation from the Lord through prophecy, dreams, visions, and trances. We are to walk and live in the revelation of the heart and mind of God. We are to be solidly grounded in the Word of God, not easily moved by passing doctrines, fables and teachings. We are to pray continually and for and about all things, praising God and having favor with all the people We are to live and walk in all of God’s abundance and supernatural provision. We are to be filled with God’s presence and glory in our churches, homes and work place and are to hold, maintain, and pour out the Glory of God into the earth. We are to walk and operate in our God-given authority and power and freely give what we have freely received. We are to be all filled with the Holy Spirit and they spoke the Word of God with boldness. With great power the apostles give witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus (Acts 4:31-33).
