NEVER ALONE,
ALWAYS CARED FOR :
1 PETER 5:7 -
Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
It does not
matter how tightly knit our families are or how many close friends we have.
When we go through a difficult time or trial, many a time, we still feel all
alone and that no one really cares or understands.
Martha knew
that feeling. She had on one occasion cried out to Jesus, “Lord, do You not
care that my sister has left me to serve alone?” (Luke 10:40) Jesus’ disciples
also knew what it was like to feel small, alone and in trouble. They cried out,
“Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” when they were swept up in a
terrifying storm. (Mark 4:38)
Today, maybe
the cry of your heart is also, “Lord, do You not care that I am left all
alone…that I am going under…that I am perishing?”
My friend,
the Lord does care for you. He loves you so much that He wants you to cast all
your cares upon Him—not just some but all your cares. He wants both your big
and small cares. There is nothing too small or big for Him. If it is a care in
your heart, He wants you to cast it upon Him.
When the
apostle Peter wrote “casting all your care upon Him”, he was talking about the
continuous act of casting all your cares upon the Lord. As a care comes, God
wants you to cast it to Him. That is the lifestyle He wants you to adopt. Why?
The verse gives us the reason—“for He cares for you”. You are casting all your
cares upon the One who loves you, and who left all of heaven to come and die
for you. That is who you are casting your cares to. It is not just any person,
but it is the One who gave His life for you!
When you are
going through a difficult time, God wants you to believe that you are never
alone because He Himself has said that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
(Hebrews 13:5) As the object of His care, He will take care of you for the rest
of your life. You are never alone and always cared for!
FAITH PLEASES
GOD

Christ
confronted the Laodicean church, which represented the Church of the end times.
He gave her this warning that reaches out across the centuries to speak to you
and me today: “Because you are lukewarm . . . I will spit you out of my mouth”
(Revelation 3:16). What incredible words! What is the crime, the unimaginable
sin committed by the modern Church? Listen to the words of the One who, above
all, seeks our faith, trust and surrender: “For you say, I am rich, I have
prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable,
poor, blind, and naked. . . . Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone
hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and
he with me” (Revelation 3:17 and 20).
This passage
of Scripture, so often quoted and applied completely out of context, is not
addressing a lost world in need of “letting Jesus in.” Rather, it is a direct
and solemn call to modern believers who are lazily lying on the bed of
indifference, quite happy with themselves and the portion they have.
This
generation has been diabolically blinded to the spiritual revelation that
without a burning faith it is impossible to please Him. Jesus is literally and
dramatically standing outside the door of a self-sufficient and
oh-so-self-satisfied church that trusts in methods, strategies and
“cutting-edge” paradigm shifts and tactics borrowed from the secular
marketplace. He is crying out, “Let Me in! Repent! Turn away from these broken
cisterns that will offer no living water! I call for a people whose trust and
confidence will hold solely to My promises. I long for a people whose faith will allow them to see the invisible,
believe the unbelievable, and receive the impossible!”
There can be worship, fantastic music programs, awesome
buildings, impressive attendance, dynamic teaching, every imaginable church and
social program, even Christian lingo and Bible quoting, but without faith it is
impossible to please God! God delights in moving mountains and extravagantly
unleashing all of heaven’s resources for breathtaking divine interventions when
one sincere person simply turns to Him with true, passionate faith.
Burning faith asking with boldness still opens the heavens,
moves His heart and His hand, and gives us unlimited access to surprising,
inexhaustible, inexplicable, miraculous and supernatural resources. God says,
“I love faith! Faith moves me! Faith will see My power and obtain My favor!” As a pastor in Montreal, I only need to take a sweeping look over the
thousands of faces gathered on a Sunday morning to be reminded of modern-day
miracles, stories and testimonies that joyfully announce to our cynical and
skeptical world that faith pleases God!
HOLD YOUR
PEACE :
“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace
and remain at rest.” - Exodus 14:14, AMP
One time in
scripture, when the Israelites were facing an impossible situation, God told
them, “Hold your peace. Remain at rest, and I will fight your battles.” Notice
there was a condition, something the Israelites had to do. It’s the same for us
today. Hold your peace. That indicates something is trying to take it away —
thoughts of worry, fear, anxiety. You might think, “What if it doesn’t happen?
What am I going to do?” If you will just
stay in peace, the Creator of the universe, the Most High God will go to work
on your behalf.
Remember, nothing can stand against our God. He has all
power. He stopped the sun for Joshua. He closed the mouths of hungry lions for
Daniel. Whatever you face in life, if you will just hold your peace and remain
at rest, God promises He will fight your battles and lead you into everlasting
victory!
