1 Corinthians 2:12 - Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
As a child of the Most High God, God wants you to know the things that have been freely given to you. He wants you to receive them freely although it cost Him His Son. He paid the price, but He wants you to receive the blessings freely. That is His love toward you.
Perhaps you are asking God, How is it that I dont have this blessing? And why do I have so little of that?
I believe that He is saying this to you: What do you lack, My child? Health? Take it! It has been paid for with the life of My Son.
Do you need peace of mind? My Son wore the crown of thorns on His head to give it to you. Take it!
Lack wisdom? Take My wisdom!
Need victory? Victory is not something you attain. It is a gift to be received. Take it!
Take My provision! Take My favor! Every time you come into My Presence, take, and take some more!
God, your heavenly Father, wants you to receive like the prodigal son, who deserved nothing, but received everything. (Luke 15:1124) God delights in giving freely. And He delights in you receiving freely because it shows that you value and appreciate His Sons sacrifice.
You miss it when you are busy trying to earn what has been freely given to you, when you think that you must do more for God to bless you, or that you must pay the price for it. God cannot give it to you based on your works because if it is by works, it is no longer by grace. When you try to work for it, you frustrate the grace of God and make light of Jesus work at Calvary.
My friend, the days of trying, striving and earning are over. The days of take, take and take more have come. Take and you will bring pleasure to Gods heart!
HOW TO BE HAPPY (2) :
'The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.' Job 42:10 NKJV
Helping others brings happiness, but selfishness never can. A ragged urchin stood looking into a sweet shop window. A man came along and observed the scene, took him inside and said to the saleslady, ‘Fill a bag with every kind of sweet he wants.’ The boy couldn’t believe his luck. As he filled his mouth with sugary delights, his benefactor asked, ‘Is that good, son?’ He nodded in the affirmative: ‘Uh huh.’ Then the man asked, ‘Could I have some?’ Immediately the boy’s look of joy turned to fear, and clutching the bag he ran away shouting, ‘Mine, mine!’ Happiness doesn’t come by getting; it comes by forgetting yourself and living for others. Job, one of the richest men in his day, lost his health, his wealth, and his family. It’s hard to imagine, right? Then an amazing thing happened: ‘The Lord restored Job’s losses, when he prayed for his friends.’ (Job 42:10 NKJV) Job actually got back twice what he lost. How? By reaching out to others instead of dwelling on his own problems. And that principle still works today. Jesus warned, ‘Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.’ (Luke 12:15NKJV) God blesses you for one reason: to make you a blessing to others. You’re not supposed to be a warehouse—but a clearing house. For every verse in Scripture that promises material success, there’s another that speaks of the dangers of hoarding. So the word for you today is: helping others brings happiness, but selfishness never can.
LEARN TO WAIT ON GOD
My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. —Psalm 62:5
Cha Sa-soon, a 69-year-old Korean woman, finally received her driving license after 3 years of trying to pass the written test. She wanted the license so she could take her grandchildren to the zoo.
She was persistent in what is normally an instant world. When we want something and cannot get it, we often complain and demand. At other times, we give up and move on if what we want cannot be quickly gratified. “Wait” is a word we hate to hear! Yet, many times the Bible tells us that God wants us to wait on Him for the right timing.
Waiting on God means patiently looking to Him for what we need. David recognized why he had to wait on the Lord. First, his salvation came from Him (Ps. 62:1). He learned that no one else could deliver him. His only hope was in God (v.5), for God alone hears our prayers (v.8).
Our prayers often revolve around asking God to hurry up and bless what we want to do. What if God’s answer to us is simply, “Be patient. Wait upon Me”? We can pray with David: “Listen to my voice in the morning,LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly” (Ps. 5:3 NLT). We can trust His response, even if it doesn’t come in the time we expect.
When we call out to You, O Lord,
And wait for answers to our prayer,
Give us the patience that we need
And help us sense Your love and care.
The bottom line of every prayer should be, “Your will be done.
WHEN YOU REST, GOD WORKS
Then she [Naomi] said, “Sit still, my daughter, until you [Ruth] know how the matter will turn out; for the man [Boaz] will not rest until he has concluded the matter this day.” - Ruth 3:18
Boaz wanted to redeem Ruth from all her financial woes and marry her. However, according to the custom of the day, he could do so only after a relative closer to Ruth gave up his right to redeem Ruth. So Boaz went to the gate of Bethlehem to settle the matter with this relative.
When Ruth’s mother-in-law, Naomi, heard what had transpired, she told Ruth to sit still and not be anxious, because Boaz would not rest until he had successfully resolved the matter concerning Ruth that very day. Now, because Boaz is a picture of Jesus, our kinsman Redeemer, the truth here is that when we “sit still” and not be anxious, Jesus goes to work on our behalf!
Beloved, what provision challenge are you facing today? A troubling bodily symptom? The fear of losing your job? Commit the matter to your heavenly Boaz, Jesus, and rest in His ability, His willingness and His favor. When you rest in Him, He will not rest until He has successfully resolved the matter for you!
BY FAITH
HEBREWS 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.
31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:
33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
HOW TO ESTEEM OTHERS MORE THAN SELF
Matthew 25:40 - "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
When a kind act was done to someone in need, Jesus said it was done unto Him. The Lord deeply feels our hurts. When someone is neglected, Jesus says He is also being neglected. We have a high priest who is touched by the feelings of our infirmities (Heb. 4:15). When we hurt, He hurts. When we are blessed, He is blessed. The God of the universe is intricately involved with every detail of our lives.
How can we esteem others better than ourselves when really we think we are better than others? Some people are better athletes than others. Some are better businessmen than others. Some are better speakers than others, and so forth.
First, we need to recognize that our accomplishments don't make us better than others. There is a difference between what we do and who we are. Better performance does not make a better person. A person's character can be severely wanting even though his performance is good.
Secondly, to esteem someone better than ourselves simply means to value them more than we value ourselves. To some that may seem impossible, but it isn't.
That is exactly what Jesus did. If Jesus, who was God in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16), could humble Himself and value our good above His own welfare, then we should certainly be able to do the same. It can happen when we die to self and live to God.
If we think only about ourselves, we will be selfish. If we get out of self and think more about the benefit of others than the benefit of self, then we will be selfless. It's a matter of focus.
KNOW HIS KINDNESS
...God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance. - Romans 2:4, NIV
In the natural, when we’ve wronged someone, sometimes it’s easier to avoid them than to face potential rejection. People unconsciously do the same thing to God. They think He’s mad at them or disappointed in them or that He is waiting to punish them because of their past sins and mistakes. But God isn’t like that. He’s not mad at you; He’s madly in love with you! He won’t reject anyone who comes to Him! He’s not waiting to punish you — Jesus already took your punishment on the cross 2,000 years ago! Now, He’s waiting for you to receive His gift of grace. He’s waiting with arms wide open today.
It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done, His kindness leads us to repentance. Don’t let fear or condemnation hold you back. That’s a lie from the enemy. Turn to Him. Experience His goodness. Trust His faithfulness. He’s promised that He’ll never leave you nor forsake you. Don’t wait another minute — He is ready and waiting for you to come and know His kindness today!
GOD IS BEHIND YOUR INCREASE
1 Corinthians 3:7 - So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
Sometimes, we think that the increase or success which we enjoy is the result of our own efforts or hard work. Now, I am not advocating laziness, but the truth is that God is the one behind our increase.
We see this truth when we read the story of Ruth, a young widow from Moab, who worked as a gleaner in a barley field from morning till evening. Now, we could attribute the entire ephaha substantial 10-day supplyof barley she collected at the end of the day to her hard work. After all, she did work all day in the field.
But when we read about how Boaz, the owner of the field, had secretly told his reapers to let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean (Ruth 2:16), we know that it was because of Boazs intervention that Ruth ended up with so much.
I believe that Jesus, our heavenly Boaz, does the same thing for us today. He causes people to favor us and drop blessings on us because He loves us. Then, He causes us to pick up these blessings. Often, it happens so seemingly naturally we forget that it is the Lord who has blessed us with the increases.
A church member who runs a florist business shared that once, God caused someone who needed a lot of flowers to drop a huge order with her. She also shared that she was hardly making any money even though she had been working hard for many years. But when she became a Christian after coming to our church, she began to confess every day that Gods favor was on her. Within a few weeks, that big order worth S$14,000 came in. Only God could have given her such a supernatural increase.
My friend, your hard work is not behind your increase. The Bible tells us that it is God who gives the increase. He is the one who is behind your increase and He delights in blessing you because He loves you!
