CHRIST IN YOU

Christ In You, The Hope Of Glory

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.  Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily. Colossians 1:27-29

The central theme of Apostle’s Paul teaching and preaching wasn’t the peripheral issues that Christians are always debating about whether suffering and poverty is the will of God, should women have short uncovered hair or preach; we should hate, despise  ourselves for Christ sake;  pray morbid prayers for mutilation of our body and flesh,  cancers to plague our body and flesh, or be hit by a large truck, so that we can suffer like Jesus did and have his character in us; is One God, existing as Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; do we worship on Sunday morning or night or Saturday? The central theme of Paul teaching and preaching was Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily. Yes, even man is to be perfect in Christ till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ-  from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love (Ephesians 4:12-16) was important to apostle Paul and should be important to us as Christians. God’s word is unchanging:

The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.  "Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship." Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.  "You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.  "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.  "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:19-24

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:12-14

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,  from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,  that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:15-21

"Christ in you, the hope of glory" the matter of true worshippers worshipping the Father "in Spirit and in truth", and not at a specific time and place is what it is all about.  Its not when and where, but whom we worship and how.  It’s not any of the peripheral issues that are important but only Christ in us and worshipping the Father "in Spirit and in truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.  "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."  Because Christ is in us we can do greater works that Jesus did and have all our prayers answer. “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” is just a true today as it was yesterday and will be tomorrow.

Because Christ is in us we can according to the riches of His glory, be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, be rooted and grounded in love, be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; so that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.  Yes, God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, the power of the Holy Spirit who resides in and abides with us. And as we yield to the power we will see the fruits and works of Christ in us!

Because of Christ in us we not only have hope and glory but power and miracles for our God is a miracle working God and a life giver. Jesus came to destroy all the works of the devil and remove all curses from us including sickness, poverty and lack. Jesus, the Life-Giver, gives us spiritual life, physical life, life everlasting. For those who are in Christ it is written, "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, . . . because of His great love. . . made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:1, 4-6; Colossians 2:13; John 5:24-25). God’s word is unchanging:

Bless the LORD, O my soul,  And forget not all His benefits:  Who forgives all your iniquities,  Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,  Who satisfies your mouth with good things,  So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.  Psalm 103:2-5

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and redemption-1 Corinthians 1:30

Because of Christ in us we are not only forgiven of all our iniquities, we are healed of all our diseases for Christ redeems our life, crowns us with loving-kindness and tender mercies, satisfies our mouth with good things,  so that our youth is renewed like the eagle's. Because of Christ we have not only righteousness and sanctification and redemption but God’s grace abounding towards us that we, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have abundance for every good work.

Through Christ we have not a religion but a living vibrant relationship with God. Through Christ, "we are more than conquerors" (Romans 8:37; 2 Timothy 1:10). Through Christ we have all we need, be it for life, for death, or for eternity. Through Christ “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13) Through Christ we overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11). Through Christ God can restore everything that was lost or stolen from His people. He can heal them from the top of their head to the tip of their toes. He can make them whole body, soul and Spirit. He can bless them out of their socks including financially.  God’s word is unchanging:

"Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: "Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.  "Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. "Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. "Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. "The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. "The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. Deuteronomy 28:1-8

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
