HOLINESS

HOLINESS

1 Thessalonians 4 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.

1 Timothy 2 15 Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

Hebrews 12 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.

Hebrews 12 14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord

Exodus 15 11 " Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?

Exodus 28 36 "You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

Exodus 39 30 Then they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

Because God is holy He demands that His people be holy. His word tells us that without holiness,   no one will see the Lord. So according to God’s word it is not enough to be righteous through faith in the finished work of Christ but we must continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control. In other words we cannot as Christians live like the world. And how does the world live? They live and walk in the flesh and demonstrate adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries

Galatians 5: 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23    gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

So called Christians who demonstrate and  practice the works of the flesh including gays and lesbians  in reality are not Christ's but enemies of the cross of Christ according to God’s word

Philippians 3:18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame --- who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21    who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

Yes the word of God demands that God’s people worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness including in their conduct and sexual practices!

1 Chronicles 16:29 Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!

2 Chronicles 20:21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: " Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever."

2 Chronicles 3:18 and to all who were written in the genealogy --- their little ones and their wives, their sons and daughters, the whole company of them --- for in their faithfulness they sanctified themselves in holiness.

Psalms 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

No one can claim to be a Christian and live a life of unholiness exhibiting the works of the flesh because God’s gives us the power  through the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of holiness to change and to live and walk in the Spirit. His word tells us

Luke 1 75 In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

Romans 1:4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.

Romans 6: 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. 20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21    What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. 23    For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Ephesians 4:24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

1 Thessalonians 3:13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

In summary there are 3 Major Doctrines of the Church off Jesus Christ for each Christian including salvation, Baptism of the Spirit and holiness!
