THE ANOINTING

You Have the Power

Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

It is true. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. But what does this mean to us? Well, it means this. What you say is important. In fact, what you say is so important that much of the Bible, God's Word, is devoted to teaching us what to say.

In the book of James in chapter 3 the Bible compares the tongue to the rudder of a large ship. Although a ship may be large and driven by fierce winds, it is turned by a very small rudder. This is the way the tongue is. It may be a small part of your body, but what you say with your mouth can enhance or destroy your life.

Most Christians have no idea how their words are affecting their lives. Words can either be words of faith - words that confirm the Word of God, or words of doubt - words that destroy faith. The choice is yours. Your mouth is connected to your head, not someone else's. You have no one to blame for what you say other than yourself. Think of it this way. Your life and your death are in the power of your tongue.

In Romans 10:9 the Bible says, "If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Notice it says that you are to confess Jesus with your mouth. It doesn't say to think in your mind. It says to confess with your mouth. In other words say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.

Jesus said in Mark 11:23, "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says."

Jesus said to say to the mountain, "Be cast in the sea." He didn't say think to the mountain. He didn't say believe in your heart and that will be enough. He said to believe in your heart and say with your mouth and then you will see the mountain moved.

Here is a spiritual law: God is a faith God and He releases His faith in words. In the beginning God spoke and the universes were formed. In Genesis 1:3 God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. Throughout creation until now God has spoken and whatever He spoke has come to pass. Ephesians 5:1 tells us to imitate God as children imitate their parents.

All through God's Word we are reminded that what we confess with our mouths can shape the world around us. A parent has a choice when speaking to their child. They can say, "You are the clumsiest child I have ever seen." "You will never amount to anything." "You never do anything right" and so on and so on. Or, they can speak faith words. They can say, "You are a good child." "You will be an achiever." "You can do all things through Jesus."

You may be thinking, "But you don't know my child!" The Bible says that when things don't look good, we are to not go by what we see anyway, but we are to walk and talk in faith. Sometimes when it comes to teenagers, we need to stand on the scripture that says we are to call those things that be not as though they were. In other words, see things as they should be. See things as God sees them. Look through the eyes of faith. Speak to your mountain in faith and it will be moved.

Think of your words as containers. When they are released from your mouth, they contain faith or they contain doubt. Remember, they are your words and you are responsible for them.

Proverbs 6:2 says we are snared by the words of our mouth. This simply means that you are responsible for your words. You have a choice. With your words you can curse and you can bless.

Speak words of faith. Speak the Word of God. Say, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Say, "Jesus is Lord and Satan is defeated." Say, "He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases." Quote the Word.

RELEASE THE ANOINTING INTO YOUR SITUATION :

Leviticus 2:1 - ‘When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it.

The grain offering in the Old Testament speaks of Jesus’ sacrifice, and oil in the Bible speaks of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. So the grain offering of fine flour, which had oil poured on it, speaks of Jesus’ humanity being anointed by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is fully God. But when He came to earth, He literally emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant. (Philippians 2:7) That is why He needed to be anointed of the Holy Spirit before He could begin His ministry. (John 1:33) Though fully God, He did things by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was anointed to bring the blessings of God into the lives of people. He first spoke of His anointing when He was preaching in His hometown—“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor…” (Luke 4:18)

Today, Jesus’ anointing has come upon you. (1 John 2:20) The Bible says that “the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you”. (1 John 2:27) But how is this anointing in you released?

My friend, it is when you call upon Jesus’ name. In Song of Solomon 1:3, the virgins, representing the church, love His name, which is like ointment poured forth when spoken. When they called upon His Name, His fragrance was released and the anointing was poured forth.

So when you call upon the name of Jesus, you are releasing His anointing. Call upon His name when you are feeling down and His anointing will lift your spirit up. If you are feeling dry and empty, just say, “Jesus, Jesus.” Before you know it, a river of refreshing will gush forth as His anointing flows. Call upon His name when you need a breakthrough and His anointing will release it to you.

Romans 10:13 says that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. So call on Jesus’ name and watch His anointing release your deliverance, healing, protection and provision, and make you whole!

Thought For The Day :
The anointing which you have received from Jesus abides in you and is released into your situation when you call upon His name.

YOU ARE NEXT!

PSALM 50:10 - For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.

Suppose you have just heard of someone whose financial debts have been miraculously cleared. Or your elated friend has just told you that despite being an average student in school, he scored straight As in all his subjects. Perhaps on Sunday, you heard a newlywed couple share about how they won an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Hawaii, or how a once-childless couple is now expecting their miracle child.

When you see or hear of others being blessed, do you ever wonder when it will be your turn? Or do you even find yourself saying, “Oh, he got blessed with the very thing that I have been praying for. There goes my blessing.”

Now, just because man’s economy operates on the principle of shortage, it does not mean that God operates in the same manner. So the next time somebody gets blessed, tell yourself, “I won’t be disheartened. I won’t be jealous. I am the next one to be blessed!”

Always remember that God does not have to bless anyone at your expense. Nor does He have to bless you at anyone’s expense. We don’t have to be jealous of each other. There is a portion that God gives to you which no man can touch because it has your name on it—“A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven”. (John 3:27)

Our God is a rich God. He owns the whole universe. He has contacts and blessings you do not know of and which are reserved just for you! There is more than enough for everybody with plenty of leftovers. In fact, you will not be able to take it all because when the blessings start coming in, they will come in a net-breaking, boat-sinking style. You will have to call for your friends in the other boats to come and help you! (Luke 5:1–7) That is the kind of blessings that our God gives. So get ready for your blessings and overflowing abundance!

COMPREHENSIVE REDEMPTION

In Christ, God’s people have a comprehensive redemption in Christ! By the blood of Jesus, they have guaranteed peace with God in all areas of life peace in their body, their family and their finances. They have become a partaker of the blessings of Abraham. Jesus hung on a tree, so that these blessings could become theirs, and replace the curses hanging their heads before. He has redeemed them from the curse of the law, being made a curse for them that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:13-14). Whatever blessings that pertained to Israel have become theirs. Divine freedom, divine health and divine prosperity are their heritage in God, and it is their birthright. All that belongs to God belongs to Jesus and now belongs to them. Jesus Christ not only delivered them from sin but their body was delivered from torture and torment. Their rescue is total! They are complete in Christ. They can walk the streets of earth free, healthy and wealthy. And whatever is destroying their body, God is out to destroy it

The blessings of Abraham have become theirs and they don’t have to accept nothing but God’s best in every area of their lives including their body. They are now the temple of the Holy Spirit and rule and reign over everything. They are head not tail! They are above not beneath! They are a somebody, not a nobody! They are now entitled to liberty, spirit, soul and body. The devil cannot hold them captive any longer. They are free indeed and can stay that way! Rescued! Their divine freedom, divine health and divine prosperity were paid for on Calvary by Jesus and they can live and walk in it and enjoy it. Jesus fully paid the price for them to be healthy. He fully paid the price for them to be sound. He fully paid the price for them to be strong. The price for their liberty was fully paid and the devil cannot reclaim it. Their body and life is now to glorify God, not the devil who is now a defeated enemy

CONSIDER YOUR GOD :

God is your source of protection from every attack of the enemy! Sickness, pain, fear, and lack, are no match for the finished work of Jesus!

The finished work of Jesus brings total deliverance to you. I speak into your life right now that you are free from any bondage or lack!

What harvest are you believing for today? Start thanking God for it as if you have already received it in the natural. That’s how faith people function!

Receiving your harvest begins by positioning yourself in faith and not allowing any form of doubt or fear to move you.

“And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body...he did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform” (Romans 4:19–21, NKJV)

In scripture, Abraham was known as the father of our faith. But, he had many obstacles coming against the promise of God in his life. God told him that he would be “the father of many nations.” Abraham was over 90 years old before he ever saw that promise begin to come to pass. This scripture tells us that He didn’t consider his body. He didn’t think and meditate on all the reasons he couldn’t be the father of many nations. No, he considered and thought about the strength and ability of God! He thought about God’s faithfulness and gave praise and glory to Him! The faith that Abraham exercised enabled God to move on His behalf and fulfill the promise in His life.

Today, what are you believing God for? Does it seem impossible? Has it taken a long time? Consider your God. Consider His Word. Consider His faithfulness. Just like Abraham, you’ll grow strong in faith as you give glory to God. Your faith will open the door for God to move in your life, and you will experience the victory and breakthrough He has in store for you
