FILLED

I Will Give You Rain In Its Season

"While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest,  Cold and heat, Winter and summer,  And day and night Shall not cease.". Genesis 8:22

'If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them,  then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.  Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.  I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.  You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you.  Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.  'For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you.  You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new. Leviticus 25:3-10

We can pray and believe God to move and supply our special needs as only He can.  Our God is able!  He is big enough!  He is the true and living God who is able to perform the miraculous. Faith in God brings victories for those who trust and obey.  Throughout the Word of God we see God's care for man on display over and over again.  He saved Noah and his house from the flood.  He delivered the three Hebrew boys out of the fiery furnace.  He led Moses and the Israelites across the Red Sea on dry ground.  If God could do these mighty miracles for people back then, we know that He can do them today.  He is God, and He changes not.  "For with God all things are possible," Mark 10:27b.  That wonderful faith in God comes from reading His Word.  When we know God and His love, it is easy to place faith in Him.

Our giving with a proper attitude to proper people or places is the key to receiving heaven's blessings in due season. Without our giving there is no receiving, because God’s law of seedtime and harvest states that there can be no harvest without first planting a seed. But no giving can be acceptable without a correct attitude. That is why not every giver ends up being prosperous. Indeed, some tithers, pledgers and givers die in penury.

If we sow our seed on the wrong soil, we will reap nothing. It is not just planting that brings a harvest, but planting in the right place. Yes according to God’s promise, no man should expect a harvest when he has not planted any seed. Thus, the power of abundance will come only by the act of planting the seed. When the seed goes into the earth, God sends rain, which brings about the harvest.  We cannot produce rain, but as we plant the seed, God sends the rain that brings the harvest. What if the rain comes and there is no seed in the ground? Then there will be no harvest!

While we remain on this earth, every harvest will bring forth after its kind of seed. No one can change that order — seed time must always precede harvest. If we will not sow, our crying, praying and fasting will not help produce a harvest.  God gave His Son, in order to reap the harvest of more sons. If He did not plant Jesus, the law of life forbids that He should reap the harvest of men. Only givers should expect a harvest. Until we become a giver, material depression is inevitable for us.

However  many lose out on their harvest due to impatience. They expect an immediate harvest. It may not always be so. Every farmer knows that he must allow a time lapse between the period of planting and the period of harvest. There is need for the sower to wait patiently. God is a covenant-keeping God, He will not fail. At the appointed time, the harvest must surely come. His word is unchanging:

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house,  And try Me now in this,"  Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven  And pour out for you such blessing  That there will not be room enough to receive it.  "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,  Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," Says the LORD of hosts;  "And all nations will call you blessed,  For you will be a delightful land," Says the LORD of hosts. Malachi 3:10-12

Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone. Zechariah 10:1

Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel:  "I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit,  Who leads you by the way you should go. Isaiah 48:17

We can stand on the Word of God, for it cannot be destroyed, not even by the strongest forces of hell put together. When we give it opens up to the Spirit of wisdom, that guides us to profiting. Our Redeemer and Our God teaches us to profit and leads us by the way we should go. When we give, we open up to supernatural creativity and God tells us what steps to take in order to have our needs met. He rains down upon us heavenly ideas that lead to profiting and wealth. But there is no abundance without obedience.  The bible tells us:

"Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.  "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:  "Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. "Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.  "Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.  "Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. Deuteronomy 28:1-6

"But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:  "Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.  "Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.  "Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Deuteronomy 28:15-18

If they obey and serve Him,  They shall spend their days in prosperity,  And their years in pleasures.  But if they do not obey,  They shall perish by the sword,  And they shall die without knowledge.  Job 36:11-12

The word of God is very clear that obedience to God’s voice brings us prosperity and disobedience bring us curses. The Lord told Abraham,"Get thee out , but He never told him what to do to be great. He only told him,"I will make you a great nation;  I will bless you And make your name great;  And you shall be a blessing." (Gen. 12:2). Abraham obeyed. He planted his integrity and everyone mocked him. But Abraham became very rich in cattle, in silver and in gold. God’s word is unchanging:

If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;  But if you refuse and rebel,  You shall be devoured by the sword";  For the mouth of the LORD has spoken. Isaiah 1:19-20

It’s that simple. Our obedience or disobedience to the word of God determines our blessings or curses! The words "obey" and "serve" show that there is a law to obey — the law of giving and receiving. God has the harvest and we have the seed.  We need to plant the seed and open up for the harvest. If we will not plant a seed, we will not get. The seed must be planted in order for the harvest to come. God’s word is unchanging:

Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who delights greatly in His commandments.  His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house,  And his righteousness endures forever.  Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness;  He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.  A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. His heart is established; He will not be afraid,  Until he sees his desire upon his enemies. He has dispersed abroad,  He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor. Psalm 112:1-9

He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what he has given. Proverbs 19:17

Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be heard. Proverbs 21:13

He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor. Proverbs 22:9

He who gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many curses. Proverbs 28:27

Yes, our giving also to the poor or the lack of giving to the poor determines our blessings or curses in the current time of life. The righteous considers the cause of the poor, even though the wicked does not understand such knowledge (Proverbs 29:7). Our cheerful giving to the poor and needy planted as a seed with enable for us a rich harvest. God’s word is unchanging:

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad,  He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever."  Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.  2 Corinthians 9:9-11

Our giving to the poor and to the work of the Lord establishes a great future for us. As we remain faithful in giving, the windows of heaven will keep pouring out wisdom and might to envelope us  for great exploits on the earth.  The bible tells us that the widow of Zarephath gave, the rain of God fell, causing the power of God to go into operation, and the oil in her cruse never finished! (1 Kings 17:8-17) That is power! Provision is guaranteed by the operation of that power, and abundance is made possible by the operation of the spirit of wisdom (Isaiah 11:1-5).

Isaac planted during famine in the land of the Philistines and in that year, God gave him a supernatural harvest. He reaped in the same year a hundredfold and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;  for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. As a result  the Philistines envied him. (Genesis 26:12-13). It was a supernatural act of God. It is not something that Issac laboured  for.  It was the supernatural finger of God in the material affairs of men.

Divine health and divine prosperity come from God through faith just like Salvation does. We must believe in our heart. Act on and confess God’s word until it comes to pass. Faith without works is dead. So there must be action including giving! God’s word is unchanging:

"Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.  Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him."  For the LORD will comfort Zion,  He will comfort all her waste places;  He will make her wilderness like Eden,  And her desert like the garden of the LORD;  Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody. Isaiah 51:1-3

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
