False Humility

Then Moses said to the LORD, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."  So the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD?  "Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say." But he said, "O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send." So the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. "Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. "So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God. Exodus 4:10-16

False humility which is actually a form of pride doesn’t enable God to use many of His people for the plans and purposes He has for them! Because of my upbringing I would refuse all requests by people to do something for me until the Lord convicted me of this sin and said to me that I wasn’t giving other people an opportunity to be blessed by saying constantly no to them. So I changed ways so that they could be blessed as it’s more blessed to give than to receive! Pride, especially in the ministry, destroys more preachers and evangelist than they realize and robs them of great rewards.  Whatever they have including the gifts of the Spirit and one of the five fold ministry is a Gift of God and on loan to them. They have a responsibility to be a good steward of all that God has entrusted them with. They have nothing to boast about except to minister as humble servants to others like Jesus did for God’s word is unchanging:

But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.  "Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. "And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave-  "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Matthew 20:25-28

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.  By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Hebrews 11:30-34

In the kingdom of God we don’t achieve or attain things by our works but by faith. And if we get things by faith what gives us the right to Lord anything over others since it was a gift? Nothing! We receive everything from God by trust including perfect health, divine wealth, divine prosperity, salvation, the gifts of the Spirit, and every good and perfect thing. God’s word is true:

O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;  Yes, I have a good inheritance. I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel;  My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.  I have set the LORD always before me;  Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.  Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:5-11

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:16-17

The Lord is the portion of our inheritance and our cup. We have a good inheritance and can bless and brag about the LORD who gives us counsel and instructs us in the night seasons.  In His presence is fullness of joy; at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. By Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.  And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.  For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross (Colossians 1:15-20). As a result we continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which we heard  and received. Christ in us u, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Jesus told us to love one another and to abide in Him. Love cannot be commanded it must be freely given. True love doesn’t grow cold but true love does grows.  And those who love God, they love the truth. It’s the pearl of grace for which they sell everything to have it! Faith and patience go together and so must vision and faith work together. Without a vision God’s people perish! True wisdom is Jesus!  False wisdom is of the devil who side tracks God’s people to have faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide into all truth. In ourselves we are weak and by ourselves we are foolish.  Humility and wisdom always lead to Jesus and victory. Pride and foolishness leads to defeat and humiliation!

God has timing for everything in our lives and we must live and walk in that timing or we will be spinning our wheels going nowhere fast. God’s word is unchanging:

To everything there is a season,  A time for every purpose under heaven:  A time to be born,  And a time to die;  A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill,  And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh;  A time to mourn, And a time to dance;  A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace,  And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep,  And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence,  And a time to speak;  A time to love, And a time to hate;  A time of war,  And a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-16

One of the great truths that the church of Jesus Christ has missed is that the Lord didn’t go to the cross just to redeem but also to restore! And that includes not only our bodies, spirit, mind, finances, and relationships but also our marriages, power and authority. God’s word is unchanging:

Fear not, O land; Be glad and rejoice, For the LORD has done marvelous things!  Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field; For the open pastures are springing up, And the tree bears its fruit; The fig tree and the vine yield their strength. Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the LORD your God;  For He has given you the former rain faithfully,  And He will cause the rain to come down for you- The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.  "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,  The crawling locust, The consuming locust,  And the chewing locust,  My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,  And praise the name of the LORD your God,  Who has dealt wondrously with you;  And My people shall never be put to shame. Joel 2:20-26
