A Man of God Came and Spoke

So it was, in the spring of the year, that Ben-Hadad mustered the Syrians and went up to Aphek to fight against Israel.  And the children of Israel were mustered and given provisions, and they went against them. Now the children of Israel encamped before them like two little flocks of goats, while the Syrians filled the countryside.   Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, "Thus says the LORD: 'Because the Syrians have said, "The LORD is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys," therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.' " And they encamped opposite each other for seven days. So it was that on the seventh day the battle was joined; and the children of Israel killed one hundred thousand foot soldiers of the Syrians in one day. 1 Kings 20:26-29

We live in a day and age where many claim to be a true man of God when they are not for the words of a true man of God do not fall dead to the ground but come to pass! A true man of God speaks the words that God gives to him and his words come to past just like the bible records:

Then a man of God came to Eli and said to him, "Thus says the LORD: 'Did I not clearly reveal Myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house? 'Did I not choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to offer upon My altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod before Me? And did I not give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire?  'Why do you kick at My sacrifice and My offering which I have commanded in My dwelling place, and honor your sons more than Me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel My people?'

"Therefore the LORD God of Israel says: 'I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.' But now the LORD says: 'Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed. 1 Samuel 2:27-30

Yes, Eli and his two thieving and raping sons became a nonexistent thing when the judgments of God hit them, not His blessings. But a true man of God filled and anointed with the Spirit of God can do great and wonderful miracles just like Elijah did. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

Now it happened after these things that the son of the woman who owned the house became sick. And his sickness was so serious that there was no breath left in him.  So she said to Elijah, "What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to kill my son?"  And he said to her, "Give me your son." So he took him out of her arms and carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his own bed. Then he cried out to the LORD and said, "O LORD my God, have You also brought tragedy on the widow with whom I lodge, by killing her son?" 1 And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the LORD and said, "O LORD my God, I pray, let this child's soul come back to him."

Then the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he revived.  And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. And Elijah said, "See, your son lives!"

Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is the truth." 1 Kings 17:17-24

Yes, the words of a true man of God are true and prosper and they don’t fall dead to the ground. All of Jesus words live and go on forever. God’s word is true:

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners,  Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;  But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree  Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season,  Whose leaf also shall not wither;  And whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3

"The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ-He is Lord of all-  "that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:36-38

Yes, the Lord who gave David victory over all his enemies and who destroyed all of Daniel enemies and delivered him from the den of lions will do the same for His true men of God who trust Him and are anointed by Him. Yes, the upright shall dwell in His presence. They shall praise the LORD who gives them the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-their  faith. Yes to the LORD, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty;  for all that is in heaven and in earth is His;  His is the kingdom, and His is  exalted as head over all.  Both riches and honor come from Him who reigns over all.  In His hand is power and might;  In His  hand it is to make great  and to give strength to all. God’s word is unchanging:

I know that the LORD will maintain The cause of the afflicted,  And justice for the poor.  Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; The upright shall dwell in Your presence. Psalm 140:12-13

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them;  Who keeps truth forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed,  Who gives food to the hungry.  The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners. The LORD opens the eyes of the blind;  The LORD raises those who are bowed down;  The LORD loves the righteous.  The LORD watches over the strangers;  He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. Psalm 146:5-9

Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.  He heals the brokenhearted  And binds up their wounds.  He counts the number of the stars;  He calls them all by name.  Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. The LORD lifts up the humble;  He casts the wicked down to the ground. Psalm 147:1-6
