You're a Winner
I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. - 1 John 2:14
Man was created to be a winner. The Bible tells us so. We read in Genesis, for example, that man was originally put on this earth as a dominating lord. God gave him dominion over the earth and everything that crept, flew, crawled, and breathed there.
Man didn't even know what losing was until he separated himself from God through disobedience in the Garden of Eden. When that happened, he ran headlong into defeat. He was forced to accept failure as his lot in life, lowering himself to a subordinate position--a position he was never meant to occupy.
It's a sad story. But if you're a born again child of God, your story has a happy ending. Through faith in Christ Jesus, you've been made a winner once again!
In fact, God has guaranteed your success. Let me show you what I mean. Imagine you're about to tackle a really tough job, and before you even get started on it, God speaks to you right out loud and says, "I just want you to know, I'm going to personally see to it that this project you're working on succeeds."
Well, let me tell you something. You do have God's promise that you'll succeed. He said in His Word that you're an overcomer! In Him you can overcome any problem the world throws your way (1 John 5:1-5).
It doesn't matter how much you feel like a loser. It doesn't matter how many times you've failed in the past. If you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, then you've become more than a conqueror in Him (Rom. 8:37).
Does that mean you won't have any more trouble? No. It simply means you can go through that trouble and emerge triumphant.
If you've been feeling like a failure lately, renew your mind to the Word of God that says you're a success. Every time a challenge comes up, respond by saying, "Well, praise God, I can beat this thing because I'm an overcomer in Jesus!" Let that Word from God abide in your heart. It will make a winner out of you. And remember it's doers of the word who are blessed and victorious:
Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'
Build on the Rock
24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
26 "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."
James 1:21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless.27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,
NOTE:“Only the sons of God walking in the Spirit can manifest the Kingdom of God.” (Meditate on Romans 8). The rebellious and defiant leviathan state is not a model of the Kingdom of God. Isaiah prophesied the anointing will “rebuild the waste cities that were trodden down by the Gentiles.” The day of rebuilding will come. Sadly, if the Babylonian’ system collapsed the people would recast the same chains and rebuild the same wooden stocks that enslave them to leviathan today. Leviathan has a strategy of captivity. It conquers by addicting its citizens to state hand-outs, deceitful promises, useless knowledge, debauched entertainments and multiplied distractions. Turn their hearts to love these things and they will fight to maintain their slavery even if it means fighting against the liberating of Christ. This is what makes apostolic restoration important. The apostles were mandated to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and heal the sick. Preaching like that produces conflict. It opens the eyes of the blind. It sets the captives free. It breaks the deception of leviathan’s prophets that call good evil and evil good.
Christ’s apostles were not Christian psychologists or entertainers. They were holy men of old moved by the Spirit of God. When they built churches they were apostolic churches that equipped the saints for the work of ministry. Never did they build defective pastoral-only models of ministry that make people comfortable in their sin, apathy and lukewarm conditions like we have today. They preached with the convicting power of the Holy Ghost that challenged people to come out of darkness, pick up their cross daily and follow Christ. When they preached the Kingdom of God the people understood it was not a spiritual thing only but required the establishment of change in their lives, establishment of Kingdom culture and full commitment of Kingdom citizenship.
REALLY WHO CARES WHAT ANY FOOL SAYS IF DOESN'T HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST ON A MATTER AND IS SPEAKING FROM HIS CARNALITY AND IF HE CANNOT SAY WHAT PAUL SAID:
1 Corinthians 2: 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.16 For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
