There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
The gifts of the Spirit come from the Baptism of the Spirit which Jesus who was born of the Spirit received also at the river Jordan and then He began His miracle ministry. The bible records:
Now John was clothed with camel's hair and with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And he preached, saying, "There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose. "I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.
Then a voice came from heaven, "You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him. Mark 1:6-13
The word of God clearly tells us that Jesus Christ is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit and when Jesus was baptized in the river Jordan the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove. Then the Father Himself spoke and said “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Then the Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness for forty days where He was tempted by Satan and angels ministered to Him. The bible records:
Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."
But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.' "
Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. "Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours."
And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' "
Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. "For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,' "and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.' "
And Jesus answered and said to him, "It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' "
Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. Luke 4:1-15
Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness where He brought out three important truths:
1) "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' "
2) "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' "
3) "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' "
Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Nazareth where He had been brought up. As His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." Luke 4:18-19
So Jesus Christ did not deny the Baptism of the Spirit but stated that the Lord had anointed him to preach the gospel to the poor. He had has sent Him to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed and to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.
Afterwards in another city all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.
So we see from the word of God that the Holy Spirit gives the gifts of the Spirit to His anointed ones so that they may give to others the word of wisdom through the Spirit, the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, faith by the same Spirit, gifts of healings by the same Spirit, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues, to and the interpretation of tongues. For God’s word is unchanging:
And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:28
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ- from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16
