THE NAME

Jesus The Name Above Every Name

"If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:14

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  Philippians 2:9-11

Because Jesus made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross, therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  But the practical application of all this is that when we use the name of Jesus, all of heaven backs it up with authority and power of that name! And we use that name when we pray and when we come against demonic powers and opposition.

Man is a spirit, God is a Spirit, and Satan is a spirit. Since we came from the spirit it only makes senses that all our solutions to all our problems come from the spirit - problems that are largely caused by Satan and his cohorts. We are not in a natural conflict in our problems, our sicknesses, our anxieties, our frustrations and our fears.  We are in a spiritual warfare in the spirit world which is the root cause of our problems (Ephesians 6:12). Hence we must allow our hearts and life to be fertile soil for the word of God that we alone determine its yield (Matthew 13:18-23). Without the word of God and the Spirit of God, we will not defeat our enemy who is very crafty, sly, evil and devious. We must not believe the devil’s lies about God that sickness, suffering and poverty are God’s work. In reality the truth is that they are the devil’s work. God is a good God who wants to do and give good things and the devil is a bad devil who wants to do bad things and he seeks whom he may devour.

One of the big problems is not the worldliness of the world but the worldliness of the church which is very carnal and has very little understanding about God and His power. It’s a church that for most part not only rejects the gifts of the Spirit but also the five fold ministries that God gave to the church of Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. The church too often is a social center, a recreational center, a prayer and bible center while deep human needs including sin, sickness, spiritual death and poverty are not dealt with by the miracle working power of God. But God has given to each man the gift of faith to obtain from God everything that He needs to be healthy, wealthy, whole and complete (Romans 12:3, Hebrews 11:32-34) God’s word is true:

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,  by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,  to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.  For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.  Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;  for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:2-11

Yes, God’s divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, including faith. To the faith that God has given us we are to add virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.  For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!

We are not to take faith for granted as it’s a gift from God beyond the five senses of taste, touch, hearing, seeing and smelling. Faith can encounter every trial, problem, circumstance and make us more than a conqueror. Faith makes every equal be they rich, poor, educated and uneducated. And by faith each person can bring heaven down on earth and make things happen on earth in the current time of life including miracles of salvation, healing and deliverance. But we must hear God’s voice beyond being born again and speaking in tongues (John 3:3-8, Acts 2:4). We must have and operate in the same anointing that Jesus had and do greater works just as He has promised:

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8

Jesus Christ our Savior, example and our life, did nothing independently of His Father or the Holy Spirit. Through prayer He discerned the will of the Father and trusted the Holy Spirit to give Him wisdom and power to fulfill that will. Jesus Christ operated in the gifts of the Spirit and manifested all the fruits of the Spirit He was totally immersed and saturated with the Holy Spirit. He came to destroy the works of the devil including sickness, poverty and lack.  He came to seek that which was lost and give miracles to people. He came to touch and transform body, soul and spirit. God’s word is unchanging:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. Galatians 6:15

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 1 Peter 5:10

Self will has no place in the life of a Christian especially those who are in the ministry and represent not only the character of Christ but His miracle working power. Although Satan is there to sift God’s people like wheat, God is also there to miraculously turn things around for our good and give us the victory. He can do this because He is God. But God’s people must pray continually in the Spirit which builds them up. God’s word is unchanging:

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints- Ephesians 6:17-18

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 1:20-21

Satan is a liar, deceiver, and destroyer and there is no truth in Him. All that comes out of his mouth are lies. He is the source of all lies. Sowing lies is one of his major strategies in defeated Christians who have their minds believing his lies rather than the promises of God. He lies and deceives Christian into believing that they are weak and powerless and that sickness, diseases, pain and poverty are God’s will for them. He lies and tells them that their negative circumstance or situation is permanent and they don’t have any hope for healing, deliverance and victory. But it’s all a lie from the pits of hell for Jesus Christ is their hope and victory and all that they need. He is the All sufficient one. Although Satan is the prince of the world, he is not in control of the world. It doesn’t belong to him but to God. God’s word is unchanging:

Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said: "Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever.  Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty;  For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD,  And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all. 1 Chronicles 29:10-12

The LORD is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.  All Your works shall praise You, O LORD,  And Your saints shall bless You.  They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, And talk of Your power,  To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts,  And the glorious majesty of His kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations. The LORD upholds all who fall,  And raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season. Psalm 145:9-15

"Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. John 12:31

When Jesus Christ went to the cross He told His disciples “the ruler of this world will be cast.” The moment Jesus Christ was raised from the dead Satan was cast out.  His power and domino over men is broken. He no longer has control over men. God’s word is unchanging:

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

As the prince of the world, Satan is rule and exercises power and dominion only over the unsaved who are in this world and the evil world system he has organized. Any child of God can use the name of Jesus against him and he has to flee. Through the anointing and the fullness of the Holy Spirit God has enabled all His children to walk in one hundred percent victory. They can take the victory over the devil that belongs to them and all that he has stolen from them for greater is God that is in them than the devil that is in the world. And everything must bow at the name of Jesus for God’s word is unchanging:

"Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.  "A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.  "Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. "Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:20-24

We are living in that day that Jesus talked about where whatever we ask the Father in Jesus name He will give us. We can ask and we will receive so that our joy may be full.  When we are baptized in the Holy Spirit we now have the Spirit with out measure. Hence when we call upon the name of Jesus we invoke – put into operation – the power and authority that is in the name of Jesus to manifest the healing, deliverance, whatever we need. We can claim whatever we need – what rightfully belongs to us – and God will there to meet the need because we are Christians, Christ like, Christ empowered, Christ’s dwelling! Hence In Jesus name we can loose our angels to bring us in the now great wealth, perfect health, great anointings, many miracles, total victories, abundant prosperity, great and total restitution and restoration,  houses, lands, cars and boats and every good thing for God’s word is unchanging:

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 3 John 1:2-3
