MAKES ONE RICH

The Sick Need A Physician?

Now it happened, as He was dining in Levi's house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him.  And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, "How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?"

When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Mark 2:15-17

The great physician cannot help those who refuse to acknowledge that they are sick. So they will die in their sickness and God cannot do anything for them. Now sickness takes many forms including physical, social, emotional and financial.  If you are completely physically whole but are emotionally sick than you are not whole? If you are in great financial straits and  are physically whole you are still in trouble? But God’s word is unchanging:

I sought the LORD, and He heard me,  And delivered me from all my fears.  They looked to Him and were radiant,  And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.  The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;  Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!  Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger;  But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. Psalm 34:4-10

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and redemption-  that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD." 1 Corinthians 1:30-31

In Christ Jesus is found salvation for the whole man, body, soul and Spirit.  While the young lions lack and suffer hunger;  but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. And this is a fantastic promise from a God who doesn’t lie! The sick can be healed of any sickness by the great Physician for  whom nothing is too big or too small to handle. Mind you the carnal ones cannot understanding this truth because they are lot led by the Spirit of God nor do they have the mind of Christ. But God’s word is unchanging:

Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the LORD your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully,  And He will cause the rain to come down for you- The former rain,  And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust,  The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.

You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you;  And My people shall never be put to shame.  Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:  I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. Joel 2:23-27

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.  These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.   But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 5 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.  For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:12-16

Those who wait upon the Lord and walk in His ways and Spirit shall not be ashamed no matter what. They shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD their God, Who has dealt wondrously with them. For He is their Savior, Healer, Deliverer, Provider, Rock, Refuge, High Tower and everything that they need. God has power to help and to overthrow and to cause their enemies to be defeated and dismayed. He is able to restore and give all things for those who look to Him in their hour of need! His word is unchanging:

Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.   And he did what was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a loyal heart.

Now it happened, as soon as the kingdom was established for him, that he executed his servants who had murdered his father the king.  However he did not execute their children, but did as it is written in the Law in the Book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, "The fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall the children be put to death for their fathers; but a person shall die for his own sin."

Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together and set over them captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, according to their fathers' houses, throughout all Judah and Benjamin; and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them to be three hundred thousand choice men, able to go to war, who could handle spear and shield.

He also hired one hundred thousand mighty men of valor from Israel for one hundred talents of silver.

But a man of God came to him, saying, "O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel-not with any of the children of Ephraim.  "But if you go, be gone! Be strong in battle! Even so, God shall make you fall before the enemy; for God has power to help and to overthrow."

Then Amaziah said to the man of God, "But what shall we do about the hundred talents which I have given to the troops of Israel?" And the man of God answered, "The LORD is able to give you much more than this."

So Amaziah discharged the troops that had come to him from Ephraim, to go back home. Therefore their anger was greatly aroused against Judah, and they returned home in great anger. 2 Chronicles 25:1-10

It doesn’t pay not to heed the word spoken by a true man of God, as the cost can and will be very costly. For God’s word is unchanging:

"And the LORD said to me: 'What they have spoken is good. 'I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 'And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him. Deuteronomy 18:17-19

"Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you: "Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish!  For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe,  Though one were to declare it to you.' " Acts 13:40-41
