PROSPERITY

God’s Will Is Prosperity?

"And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him  "and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. Acts 7:9-10

"Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.  "But God raised Him from the dead. Acts 13:29-30

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 3 John 1:2-3

Walking through the very pages of the Bible, in Genesis, we see that God created man and put him in the Garden of Eden—an actual utopia of blessing. There he lived with Eve in a realm of peace and prosperity. We see that God had given them gold and precious stones—riches—although there was no need for gold in Eden. Then, we see Noah. God blessed him so that he was a man of wealth and substance. We see Abraham, a man who was “very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold” (Genesis 13:2). We se Joseph, who suffered terrible persecutions and trials at the hands of his own brothers, but God took every adversity and turned it into a blessing for him. Through His servant, Moses, God transported the Children of Israel over hundreds of miles of bare desert and across the Red Sea. He fed them and clothed them by a miracle. The Bible says He brought them forth with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.  All through the Bible almost every chapter has another example of God providing for His people. And  God doesn’t change,  He is always the same. “For I am the Lord, I change not;”  Malachi 3:6). If He did it for the people of the Bible, He will do it for us today.

The Bible is full of promises about prosperity. In Deuteronomy 28, we  find this scripture—“the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods...and shall open unto thee his good treasure.” Does that sound like it is wrong to want financial blessings? Of course not. The Bible teaches, God is the one who gives you power to get wealth. (Deut. 8:18). “The Lord has pleasure in the prosperity of His servants” (Psalm 35:27). The only time in all the Bible where God says “Prove Me” is about money. In Malachi 3:10, the Lord says if we will prove Him by putting Him first, He will open the windows of Heaven and pour us out a blessing that we will not even have room enough to receive.

God will take what we have and bless it to provide what we need! At the marriage in Cana, the host had run out of wine. But Jesus required that he give what he had. He had to bring water and fill up pots before Jesus could meet his need. Once he brought what he had—water—Jesus used it to provide what he needed—wine! Jesus took a little boy’s lunch of a few fish and loaves and used it to feed a multitude.

God can use what we have to provide what we need. God wants to heal us everywhere we hurt. God can also use us through our powerful prayers, daring faith and the gifts of the Spirit.  We can preach the message of hope that he preached to the poor and underprivileged that they can have victory and deliverance. They can hope and believe that a better quality of life was not just attainable, but was actually God's promise to every believer. God’s wants to bring restoration and blessing for the whole man body, soul and spirit. He wants to give us salvation, healing and prosperity to multitudes throughout the world. "If we have a need, we can have a miracle." We can flow in prophetic anointing in the Gifts of the Spirit, with healing, miracles and the word of knowledge for others. God’s word tells us:

"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,  to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:28

It has been said God has given us His Master Plan principles?

TRUST GOD TO SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

GIVE GOD YOUR BEST. “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke 6:38)

EXPECT GOD TO MEET YOUR NEEDS. “…What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:24)

But God wants to meet all our needs, not just financial or salvation of the soul! He wants to bless us out of our socks and make us a blessing to others. But we must learn to hear and heed His voice and be obedient to Him in all things. A car with only one flat tire doesn’t go very far? Similarly if we only have one flat tire in our lives or a serious need that is not meet it will cripple us? But God is able to meet every need and do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask pray or think. His word is unchanging:

I love those who love me,  And those who seek me diligently will find me.  Riches and honor are with me, Enduring riches and righteousness.  My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold,  And my revenue than choice silver. I traverse the way of righteousness,  In the midst of the paths of justice,  That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth,  That I may fill their treasuries. Proverbs 8:17-21

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always {and} under all circumstances {and} whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].  As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice {and} goodness {and} kindness {and} benevolence will go on {and} endure forever!  And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity]. Thus you will be enriched in all things {and} in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 9:8-11 Amplified Bible
