SPECIAL

THERE IS JUST SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT YOU :

ISAIAH 60:1 - Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

People might have said to you, “Why are you so lucky?” or “You seem to be looking younger and younger,” or “There is so much bad news these days, yet you seem untroubled by them.”

Now, the people of the world don’t have spiritual discernment. They can only go by your physical appearance, behavior and what happens to you. In other words, if they notice something different about you, it is because they see the evidence of God’s glory on your life—in your family and work life, health and finances.

Your friends and colleagues may have told you that you stand out from the rest as though a spotlight were on you. Indeed, this is so because of Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27) When God’s glory rises upon you, your words carry weight, even if you are not eloquent. I should know. I stuttered and stammered right up into my teens. So when your words change people’s lives, you know that it is not you. It is the Lord!

You don’t have to be a straight-A student or someone able to speak the Queen’s English. You may be foul-mouthed like the disciple Peter, but when God changes you and His glory rises upon you, and you stand up and preach, 3,000 people get saved! (Acts 2:14–41) What is important is that God gives weight to what you say.

You might be a nobody like Joseph, a slave cast aside and forgotten in a dungeon. Yet, the greatest king on earth at that time sought Joseph out to have him interpret his dreams. In other words, God will give to you answers that the people of the world do not have.

Maybe it is your hands. When you lay hands on the sick, they recover. Maybe it is your ability to give counsel that is spot on, or your ability to speak into their future with a word of knowledge or word of wisdom from God.

“The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” (Isaiah 60:3) My friend, when you see this happening, it is because the people of the world are drawn to the glory of the Lord which has risen upon you!

God's Gifts Are Grounded in Joy

Everyone has times when they like to sit back and think about all the things going on around them. Sometimes it's really hard to find the time, but when those times do come along, I find them very refreshing. Last week I had one of those times.

I took a cup of hot apple cider and went into a room in my house I call "the upper room." It's a room above my garage that overlooks the Lake of the Ozarks. I have never put a television or stereo up there. Somehow it just never seemed right. The room is so quiet and a nice place to think.

One evening I was in the upper room thinking about the good things of God, when I began to list all the things God has provided for us. As I made my list I began to realize that God's gifts are all grounded in joy.

Let me explain. When we become a Christian, the Spirit of God indwells us. Our spirit is born again and we become a new creation. Second Corinthians 5:17 talks about it, saying, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit lives within us. As a Christian, because we have the Spirit of God within us, we also have the product of His Spirit. The Bible calls it the fruit of the Spirit and says it "is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."

Everything God has for us is joyful. When He heals us, is that a joyful thing or a sad thing? Of course, it's a good, joyful thing. When God prospers us, is that a joyful thing, or a sad thing? Of course, it's a joyful thing! But what's unique about being a Christian is that we can have joy in the midst of sickness, financial trouble, or any trial that comes our way.

Why? Because first of all, the joy has already been placed within us as a part of the fruit of the Spirit. That happened when we became born again. Secondly, we know that no matter how great the sickness, no matter how great the financial problem, no matter how great the trial, we can rest in the truth that God said He would deliver us.

In Psalm 34:19 the Bible says, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." Did you catch that? God delivers us out of all of our afflictions.

If this is true, and we know it is because God's Word says it, then we have no reason to be depressed. Likewise, we have every reason to be joyful. Even though we may be going through a trial, God said He would deliver us out of it. And if God is going to set us free from our afflictions like He said He would, then we can easily let that joy out that has been placed within us.

The problem with joy is not getting it, it's letting it out. As Christians we have already been given joy as part of the fruit of the Spirit. So since we have it, it's our responsibility to let it flow. We have our hand on the valve that governs our joy level.

REAL LIFE TESTIMONY :

God performed a mighty miracle in the life of Mr. Bernard Ankoma, a mighty Prophet of God from Ghana. When he was born, his mother disowned him and threw him in the streets. As an orphan he was on the streets and no one cared for him. It so happened that a rich man’s eye fell upon him and he took pity on the child. Moved with compassion, he embraced the child. He made his gardener to take care of this child. The child never enjoyed a good meal, proper care and was treated very poorly. He learnt his lessons by listening to the Master who taught the children in the home where he stayed.

One day he heard about Jesus and somehow caught hold of a Bible. He read about God and believed in Him. He cried to God to bless him. God blessed him and gave him tremendous knowledge and showered His mighty power of the Holy Spirit. He became a mighty preacher. Then he wanted to marry but no one was willing to marry him and finally a girl agreed to this proposal on one condition. The said condition broke his heart to pieces. The girl did not have a womb but still he married her.

Several months passed by, one day she complained of a severe stomach pain and the doctors examined her and were astonished. They said, “You are going to have a child”. It was impossible but God created a womb and blessed her with a child. At the right time a girl child was born to them. She was named Miracle. Indeed it was a Miracle. For God nothing is impossible.

Dear friend, are you going through the path of agony. Do not be troubled. Trust the Lord and never panic for anything in your life. Isaiah 61: 1, 2 says, “He will comfort all those who mourn”. He will bless you with His comfort.

Don’t Sweat Over Loss Or Waste
22“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; Luke 15:22–23

What would you say if your son, whom you had given a large inheritance to, came crawling home one day after wasting all his money on riotous living?

In the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11–24), the father did not say one word about loss or waste, though his son had indeed wasted his inheritance on riotous living. The father only saw his son’s homecoming as an opportunity to show him how much he loved him and to restore to him what he had lost.

Like the father in the parable, it is your heavenly Father’s desire to embrace you and show you how much you are loved. And it is His good pleasure to restore to you what you have lost.

Perhaps you have lost something recently, or you are frustrated that something has gone to waste due to a bad decision you made. My friend, God does not see the finality of the loss or waste the way you do. When you come to Him with it, He sees it as an opportunity to restore to you what has been lost or wasted.

Even if, like the prodigal son, you feel far away from your heavenly Father, or you feel that you have disappointed Him, don’t despair. The truth is that the moment you come to Him, He immediately restores to you the robe of honor to clothe your nakedness, the ring of authority to declare your position of power and dominion, and the sandals on your feet (which servants do not wear) to reinstate you as a son in His house.

He reassures you that you had never lost the position of sonship. And He celebrates your return to Him with the killing of a fatted calf because you are His beloved child whom He cherishes.

Beloved, in your Father’s house, you not only come under His complete protection, but you also enjoy His inexhaustibly rich provisions and unconditional love!

Thought For The Day
It is your heavenly Father’s desire to show you how much you are loved and to restore to you what you have lost.

God has given us hundreds of promises not simply for us to read and enjoy, but that we might boldly declare them to bring us victory.

JESUS CHRIST IS STILL THAT BRONZE SERPENT ON THE POLE WHO CAN SAVE ANYBODY WHO CALLS UPON HIM

NUMBERS 21:4    Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way.
5    And the people spoke against God and against Moses: "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread."
6    So the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died.
7    Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people.
8    Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live."
9    So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

IT'S NO SURPRISE TO GOD :

"But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph…" - (2 Corinthians 2:14, AMP)

In life, we all have to deal with the unexpected. Just because we're believers, just because we're good people or doing the right thing doesn't make us exempt from trouble. The scripture says, "The rain falls on the just and the unjust." In times when something unexpected happens, or you find yourself facing a crisis, you don't have to go into "panic mode" or fall apart emotionally. Remember, that crisis is no surprise to God. It may be unexpected to you, but God knows the end from the beginning. He has solutions to problems that you haven't even had. He has equipped you for every battle, and He goes before you making your crooked places straight.

Today, focus on the fact that He is with you. Remember that He is walking with you and guiding you to a place of peace and victory. No matter what has happened, He will take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it around for your good! He always leads us in victory, so keep moving forward trusting in the good plan He has for you!
