Luke 16:17 "And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail."
The jot was not only one of the smallest letters of the Greek alphabet, but also one of the most insignificant, being sometimes deleted at the writer's pleasure. The tittle was only a mark or a point on a line that helped distinguish one letter from another. The tittle corresponds to our period or apostrophe. The point that Jesus is making is that even the tiniest detail of the law would not pass away.
Christ fulfilled every jot and tittle of the law. The law was ordained to life, but no one could keep it. So, God Himself became flesh. He did what no sinful flesh had ever done. He kept the law thereby winning the life of God as the prize for keeping the law. This granted Him eternal life but before He could give it to us, we still had a debt that had to be paid. This is similar to someone receiving the death penalty for some hideous crime, then some billionaire leaves his whole estate to him. It would do the condemned man no good. But if that same billionaire could somehow take that man's place and die for him, then he could go free and enjoy his new wealth. That's what Jesus did for us. He took our sins and gave us His righteousness.
Jesus did much more than just obtain eternal life for us, He also paid all the wages of our sins (Rom. 6:23). God literally placed the condemnation, or judgment, that was against us upon His own Son. Jesus' perfect flesh was condemned so our defiled flesh could go free. What a trade! Since Jesus bore our sentence (condemnation), we don't have to bear it. The debt has already been paid.
SET FREE WHILE LISTENING TO GOD’S WORD!
ROMANS 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…
We are coming to a place in church history where what happened in the early church is happening in the body of Christ today. In the early church, as the Word went forth in Cornelius’ home, God filled the people there with the Holy Spirit. As Paul was preaching one day in Lystra, a lame man jumped up and walked at Paul’s command.
I’m seeing such miracles happen more and more in our church. I know of a lady who was healed of cancer this way. No one laid hands on her. I didn’t pray for her. I had never even seen her or known about her until she shared her testimony in our church. Just by listening to my sermon CDs, her healing began to manifest until she was completely healed!
Another man had his deaf ear pop open just by listening to one of my sermon CDs. Healings are taking place as the Word goes forth. God uses the foolishness of preaching to save, heal and deliver people (1 Corinthians1:21)! That’s His delivery system. It’s via the means of preaching and teaching that people receive their miracles.
My friend, that is the power of God unto salvation when the gospel is preached. So keep hearing preaching that is full of the gospel of grace. Keep hearing about Jesus and what He has accomplished for you at the cross. And as the Word goes forth, the power of God for your healing, prosperity and deliverance will suddenly break forth!
THE WORD FOR TODAY - TEMPTATION (3)
'My strength is made perfect in weakness.' 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
You ask, 'How long will this temptation last?' Sometimes the enemy's attack is short-term, other times it is long-term. Paul had a 'thorn' in his flesh, one that wouldn't go away. Why did he have it? Pride! 'Lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me.' (2 Corinthians 12:7 NKJV) Paul spoke several languages and wrote half the New Testament. With credentials like that, it's easy to become arrogant. Finally he stopped praying for an exit strategy and began to understand God's purpose: 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV) Pride is one of the most neglected subjects in church today. Perhaps that's due to the fact that we receive our teaching from people who often struggle with it themselves. Pride doesn't necessarily show on your face, but when you're under pressure it surfaces in your actions and attitudes. Pride originated with Satan: 'I will make myself like the Most High.' (Isaiah 14:14 NIV) Often the core of atheism is pride; a person with no god plays God. Satan used this strategy in Eden. 'God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God.' (Genesis 3:5 NKJV) That's why Paul told the Philippians, 'You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though He was God... He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a slave... Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honour.' (Philippians 2:5-9 NLT) The key to overcoming temptation is submitting to God and living in daily dependence on Him.
IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE :
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” - (Psalm 46:1, NIV)
God is always present with you. That means at all times, continually, perpetually, throughout all time, God is with you. In your day of trouble, He is a help to you. How is He your help? By providing whatever you need; by opening doors for you; by orchestrating things in your favor. That’s because “help” is specific to your need. We serve a God who is very specific, and because He is always with you, He always knows exactly what you need!
Today, are you facing trouble or adversity? Know that God is with you. Look to Him for help. Trust that He has the answer, and that He is working things out in your favor. As you continue to believe Him and follow His direction, He will lead you in the way that you should go. He will comfort you, revive you, restore you and bless you! He will be your ever-present help because He is forever faithful to His Word!
A PLACE OF ABUNDANCE :
"…We went through fire and water, but You brought us to a place of abundance" - (Psalm 66:12 NIV).
Everyone has times in life when they feel like they are going through the fire, so to speak, or they feel overwhelmed with everyday life. If that's you today, understand that God is going to bring you through those challenges. He's going to bring you through the fire and the flood into a place of abundance and victory! We serve a God of more than enough, and His desire is to always make sure you have whatever you need to be successful and victorious in every area of your life.
Remember, John 10 says that Jesus came so that we can have life—abundant life! He wants you to have an abundance of resources, an abundance of wisdom, an abundance of peace—everything you need. Open your heart and thank Him for His goodness. Begin to receive His promises by faith. Let your praise open the door for Him to move on your behalf so He can take you to a place of abundance in every area of your life!
And kings shall be your foster fathers and guardians, and their queens your nursing mothers. They shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth and lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know [with an acquaintance and understanding based on and grounded in personal experience] that I am the Lord; for they shall not be put to shame who wait for, look for, hope for, and expect Me.Isaiah 49:23 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Say this with me......
No weapon formed against me, shall prosper. And every tongue that arises against me in judgment I now condemn, this is my heritage as a servant of the Lord, if there are those who have been speaking, praying or seeking to harm me or who have rejected me I now forgive them. Having forgiven them, I bless them, in the name of the Lord.
Now I decree, O Lord you alone are my God and beside you there is no other. And right now, I do not submit myself, to the present reality, I declare right now, I resist the devil, all his pressures, all his attacks, all his deceptions and every instrument, every agent that he would seek to use against me I do not submit to him, I resist him, I drive him out from before me. And I exclude him in the name of Jesus.
And right now, I reject and repel every infirmity, every infection, all pain, in- inflammation, allergies, viruses, and I break, every curse and I also reject and break every form of witchcraft (control or manipulation over me), every type of stress, and every named sickness that has come upon my life, and I declare that I am free.
And finally, I thank you Lord, that through the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, I now pass from under the curse and enter in to the blessings of Abraham whom you have blessed in all things, in exaltation, in health, in reproducing, in prosperity, and in victory.
I declare God’s favor, is upon my life. I declare God’s grace is upon my life. I am in friendship with God. I declare that I am now free to prosper and to advance into my purpose, Today, in the Name of Jesus. AMEN.
CREATION CAN’T BUT REDEMPTION CAN!
John 9:7 - And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
When Adam sinned and fell, everything about creation fell. Yet, people today are still putting their trust in creation. For example, they try to become healthy by eating what is called the “Eden diet” — vegetables and no meat. They are acting as if creation did not fall. They also forget that there are people who eat well and exercise regularly, and still drop dead in the prime of their lives!
Thank God that what creation cannot do, redemption can and did. Jesus demonstrated this when He spat on the ground, made clay with the saliva and put it on a blind man’s eyes. (John 9:6–7) Now, it is certainly unusual to put clay on a blind man’s eyes because he would become doubly blind!
So why did Jesus do that?
He was demonstrating to us that all our body parts come from the ground and that because creation is fallen, the work of creation cannot open a blind man’s eyes. But the work of redemption can! That is why He sent the blind man to the pool of Siloam. The word “Siloam” means “Sent”, referring to the sent one, Jesus. When the blind man washed his eyes in the pool of the sent one, he received supernatural healing for his eyes.
Beloved, when we go to Jesus, the sent one who came to redeem us with the price of His blood, and we rest in His finished work, we will receive the miracle we need. If we believe that by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), we will have greater health than those who trust in creation.
Jesus was sent to redeem us from every curse that came upon creation with the fall of Adam. (Galatians 3:13) He has redeemed us from sickness, pain, sorrow, depression, poverty and even death. The world may know Him as the Creator. But today, we know Him as our Redeemer. Where the work of creation cannot save us, His work of redemption can and has!
