THE POWER TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. - John 12:31
The only reason Satan ever had any right to become a prince or rule over us was because we yielded ourselves to him through sin (Rom. 6:16). Since Jesus "bore our sins in His own body on the tree" (1 Pet. 2:24), Satan no longer has power or authority over those who accept Jesus' gift of salvation. Satan has been "cast out" -- stripped of any power he had. Now he can only deceive, and if we fall for his lies, we stop God's blessings from flowing in our lives.
The reason why a believer must live a holy life, is to avoid Satan's bondage. When we obey sin, we yield ourselves to Satan, the author of that sin.Yielding to sin is yielding to a person, Satan. God doesn't impute the sin to us but the devil does. Our actions either release the power of Satan or the power of God in us.
Although God is not imputing our sins unto us, we cannot afford the luxury of sin because it allows Satan to have access to us. When a Christian does sin and gives the devil an opportunity to produce death in his life, the way to stop him is to confess the sin. God is faithful and just to take the forgiveness that is already present in our born-again spirit and release it in our flesh, thereby removing Satan and his strongholds.
A person who abandons himself to sin is actually becoming a slave to the devil while a person who obeys righteousness is yielding himself to the Lord. This is why a Christian should live a holy life.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
You can always look into the Word of God for fail-proof instructions pertaining to life. When you need guidance or correction, the Word will provide the answers you need to succeed. And remember God wants you by His Spirit and power to lift the fallen, restore the broken, and heal the hurting.There is no limit to what God will do in you and through you when you line up your thinking with His Word and His promises.
Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him. - John 14:23 AMP
PLANT A SEED AND WATCH IT GROW!
And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. – Mark 4:30-32
Jesus compares the workings of the kingdom of God to planting seeds in the earth. "When the seed is sown," He said, "it grows up...."
Notice He didn't say that it would occasionally grow up. Or it grows up if it's God's will. He said, "It grows up and becomes greater." Period.
God's economy isn't like ours. It isn't up one day and down the other. It's always the same and it always works perfectly. If you have good earth, good seed and good water, you're going to have growth. It's inevitable.
So, if you're facing a need, don't panic... plant a seed!
That seed may take the form of money or time or some other resources you have to give. But, no matter what form it takes, make sure you put life in it by giving it in faith and surrounding it with praise and worship. Say, "Lord, as I bring You my goods, I bring myself. I give myself to You--spirit, soul and body."
Pray over that seed. Fill it with faith, worship and the Word. Then plant it. You can rest assured--it will grow up and become greater!
SOW WHAT?
He who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. —Proverbs 11:18
On the clock tower of my alma mater is an Art Deco bas-relief sculpture titled The Sower. The inscription beneath it is from Galatians 6:7, “Whatsoever a man soweth.” Michigan State University remains a leader in agricultural research, but despite many improvements in farming techniques and crop production, this fact remains: Seeds of corn will not produce a crop of beans.
Jesus used many farming metaphors to explain the kingdom of God. In the parable of the sower (Mark 4), He compared the Word of God to seeds sown in different types of soil. As the parable indicates, the sower sows indiscriminately, knowing that some seed will fall in places where it will not grow.
Like Jesus, we are to sow good seed in all places at all times. God is responsible for where it lands and how it grows. The important thing is that we sow. God does not want us to reap destruction, so He wants us to sow what is good and right (Prov. 11:18). The apostle Paul elaborated on the metaphor when he warned believers not to sow seeds of corruption. Instead, we are to sow seeds that will reap eternal life (Gal. 6:8).
The answer to the question, “Sow what?” is “Sow what you want to reap.” To reap a good harvest in your life, start sowing seeds of goodness.
Sow a thought, reap an act;
Sow an act, reap a habit;
Sow a habit, reap a character;
Sow a character, reap a destiny.
A buried seed brings fruit; a selfless life reaps an eternal harvest.

Almost 20 million children in America grow up without a father - 75% of them in poverty. And it gets worse; these children are five times more likely to commit suicide, ten times more likely to take drugs and 20 times more likely to go to prison. Luther Burbank said, 'If we paid as much attention to our plants as we do to our children, we'd be living in a jungle of weeds.' Father, answer these three questions: (1) Are you giving your children things instead of yourself? By the time they're 12, it's said they'll have learned 75% of all they'll ever know. The question is who will their teachers be? Television? Some drug-addicted celebrity? Their peers? As the twig is bent, so grows the tree. (2) Are you giving your best to your career or to them? If you spend all your energy at work and leave none for your family, you'll pay a high price. Remember, you get only one bite at the apple. Your children will grow up either to resent you, repeat your mistakes or rejoice in the memory of a home where love was spelt T.I.M.E. (3) Are you setting a spiritual tone for your family? Or does your wife run circles around you in this area? Thank God for mothers who 'stand in the gap', but the Bible holds fathers responsible for the spiritual training of their children. Listen: 'Fathers...bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.' (Ephesians 6:4 NIV) Ten or twenty years from now, what are you going to wish you'd done today? Start doing it!
