PEACE

THE PRINCE OF PEACE
...and his name shall be called...The Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6, KJV

Jesus doesn’t just have peace; He is peace. With Jesus, we can have peace when things around us aren’t peaceful. We can have peace in the midst of the storm. We can have peace when gas prices go up and the housing market goes down. We can have peace that passes understanding because we are connected to the true source of peace — the Prince of Peace!

Do you need peace in any area of your life today? Call on the Prince of Peace. Give Him your burdens and cares. Focus on His goodness knowing that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Let His peace lead and guide you. You don’t have to be worried about anything. When God gives you peace, nothing in the world can take it away. Choose today to walk and live in His perfect peace every day of your life!

GOD CAN LIFT YOU UP (2)

All things are possible to him who believes. - Mark 9:23 NKJV

In order to access power, you have to go to the outlet and plug in to the source of it. That’s what happens when you pray in faith; you plug in to God’s power. Picture a boat trapped in mud and stuck on the bottom. If you can get it to the dock, you can repair it and send it back out to sea. The trouble is you can’t move it. So what’s the answer? Bring in high–powered tugboats, connect steel cables to the sunken craft and wait for the tide to rise. Are you getting the idea? When you feel so low that you can’t lift yourself up, tap into God’s power and let Him lift you up to the place where He can repair, restore and re–commission you. If you keep that picture in mind, you’ll never think about prayer the same way again. Instead of seeing it as an obligation, you’ll start seeing it as an awesome power that works for you in all circumstances of life. And you’ll see reading the Bible in a different light as well. Paul says, ‘So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up.’ (Acts 20:32 NKJV) Your problems may be great, but the tide of God’s Spirit is greater, and if you let it, it’ll lift you out of your troubles. Will they suddenly vanish overnight? No, but you’ll be above them looking down instead of underneath them looking up. At that point you’ll be operating from a position of faith instead of a position of fear. It can happen for you. God can lift you up: ‘All things are possible to him who believes.’

HOW TO BAPTIZE

Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

In the same way that this commission is to every believer, not just to ministers, the command to baptize is also for every believer. It is proper for any believer to administer the ordinance of water baptism.

Jesus commands us to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, yet there is no recorded instance where the believers did so. Instead, the instances of baptism that are recorded in the book of Acts, show people being baptized in the name of Jesus only.

Because of this noticeable difference, doctrines have arisen that teach there is no Trinity, and that unless water baptism is administered in the name of Jesus (only), with faith in the water baptism, a person cannot be saved. This is a false teaching that has led many people astray.

Water baptism is an outward witness of the inner change that has already taken place. In Acts 10:44-48, Cornelius and his friends were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues, proving that they were already born again before they were baptized in water.

The harmony between the commission of Jesus and the practice of the early church is simple. When we baptize people in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, we are baptizing them in the name of Jesus because "in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Col. 2:9).

Therefore, baptizing in the name of either, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, or the name of Jesus, is correct as long as Colossians 2:9 is understood.

SUPERNATURAL CANCELLATION OF DEBT

…So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float. - 2 Kings 6:6

Elisha’s prophets-in-training were cutting down trees near the Jordan River to use the wood to build a larger place to meet. But as one of them was chopping away, his iron ax head fell into the water and he cried, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed” (2 Kings 6:5). The man was upset because he was now in debt—he owed someone an ax head.

What did Elisha do? He threw a stick into the spot where the ax head had fallen, and the ax head floated up. Then, Elisha told the man who had lost the ax head to pick it up. You could say that this was a supernatural cancellation of debt!

My friend, if you have a debt today, know that God is interested in getting you out of it. Even if it was a result of your foolishness, God doesn’t hold it against you. In the story, Elisha didn’t ask whose fault it was or why the person was so careless. He was only interested in solving the problem. Many of the sins we commit are out of our own folly. Yet, God cancelled our debt of sin because Jesus paid the debt for us at Calvary. With that debt gone, we can freely receive all that God has for us.

Beloved, the stick that Elisha threw into the water speaks of the cross. So because of the cross of Jesus, today, you can have your debts supernaturally cancelled. As you bring your situation before the Lord, see the provision He made for you at the cross—God will give you the wisdom and the means to clear every debt!

For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, and they have hewn for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns which cannot hold water. - Jeremiah 2:13 Amplified Bible

IS JESUS STILL HERE?

[Nothing] shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. —Romans 8:38-39

Ted Robertson’s home in Colorado was one of more than 500 destroyed by the Black Forest Fire in June 2013. When he was allowed to return and sift through the ash and rubble, he was hoping to find a precious family heirloom made by his wife—a tiny ceramic figurine of baby Jesus about the size of a postage stamp. As he searched the charred remains of their home, he kept wondering, “Is the baby Jesus still here?”

When our lives are rocked by disappointment and loss, we may wonder if Jesus is still here with us. The Bible’s answer is a resounding Yes! “Neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come . . . shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38-39).

In a corner of what used to be his garage, Ted Robertson discovered the burned remnants of a nativity scene and there he found the baby Jesus figurine undamaged by the flames. He told KRDO News Channel 13, “[We’ve] gone from apprehension to hope . . . that we’re going to recover some parts of our life that we thought were lost.”

Is Jesus still here? He is indeed, and that is the everlasting wonder of Christmas.

When all around me is darkness
And earthly joys have flown,
My Savior whispers His promise
Never to leave me alone.

If you know Jesus, you’ll never walk alone.

GOD CAN LIFT YOU UP (1)

He will lift you up. - James 4:10 NKJV

The Bible says, ‘Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.’ It works this way: when you try to exalt yourself, God brings you down, but when you humble yourself in His sight, He lifts you up. He does it because you’re His child and He loves you. You may feel like a nobody right now, but in God’s eyes you’re a somebody. Who but God could reach behind a hedge, find a Rodney ‘Gipsy’ Smith and use him to win multitudes to Christ? Who but God could go to Old Comiskey Park in Chicago, find a baseball player called Billy Sunday and use him to impact the world? Who but God could look in a Galilean fishing boat and find Peter, call him, transform him and use him to build the church? God loves to do things like that. And since He ‘does not show favouritism’ (Romans 2:11 NIV) you’ve every right to believe He will do it for you too. The Bible says, ‘like one...inwardly calculating...but his heart is not with you.’ (Proverbs 23:7 ESV) When that little voice inside you whispers, ‘You’ve no talent and you’ll never amount to anything in life,’ that’s not God. It’s Satan—and the Bible says he’s a liar! (John 8:44) That’s why you need to tell him, ‘I don’t believe a word you’re saying. You can’t put me down because God is raising me up.’ God’s plan for you was established long before you were born, and He hasn’t changed His mind. So you need to discover His plan, then make sure your feelings, thoughts, actions and words line up with it.
