PRAY UP

 PRAY UP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM!

1 Corinthians 14:4 - He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself…

Many Charismatics believe that when you speak in tongues, you edify or build up your spirit man. Well, that is only one-third true. The Bible does not say that the speaker edifies his spirit. No, it says that the speaker “edifies himself”. This means his entire self—spirit, soul and body. So he who speaks in tongues builds up his spirit, soul and body.

Does this include building up your immune system? Yes, it does! Brain specialists at Oral Roberts University’s hospital found out through research and testing that when a person prays in tongues, his brain releases two chemicals that are directed to his immune system, giving it a 35 to 40 per cent boost. Interestingly, these secretions are triggered by a part of our brain that has no other apparent activity and which is activated only when we pray in tongues.

Now, your immune system is your first line of defense against diseases. During the SARS outbreak in Singapore in 2003, not everyone who had the disease died. Only those whose immune systems were weak succumbed to the disease and died. Therefore, many people resorted to vitamins and herbs to boost their immune systems.

A 74-year-old church member decided to build up his immune system against more heart problems. Two of his arteries were 70 per cent blocked and five smaller vessels were 80 per cent blocked. So during a church service, when I asked those who wanted to be healed of heart problems to stand up, he stood up, placed his hand over his heart and prayed in tongues.

He shared that at that moment, he believed that the Holy Spirit touched him and he became a different person. When he went for his medical check-up, his surgeon found that all the blockages in his blood vessels were gone! Even a scheduled heart-related operation was cancelled as there was no longer any necessity for it. Indeed, he was a different person. He literally had a change of heart, a new heart from God!
Beloved, you may not have a heart condition, but you can still pray in tongues and pray up your immune system!

Thought For The Day ….

Praying in tongues helps boost your body’s immune system!

PROOF OF THE RESURRECTION ...

Matthew 28:11 "Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done."

In the Jews' efforts to prevent anything from happening that would cause people to believe that Jesus was resurrected, they gave one of the most sure proofs of His resurrection. They sealed the tomb so it would be obvious if it had been opened and they obtained a guard of soldiers to protect it.

This removes all doubt that the followers of Jesus could have stolen His body. Therefore, the enemies of Jesus became a historical witness that Jesus literally rose from the dead.

The guards told the chief priests everything that happened at the tomb. This means that they had a complete account of the earthquake, the angels rolling away the stone, and the angels giving the message to the women that Jesus was alive from the dead. They may have even seen Jesus walk out of the tomb.

The very ones that the Jews had secured to guarantee there would be no rumors of Jesus being raised from the dead, became the first witnesses and heralds of the resurrection. Yet, with the testimony of impartial, non-religious eyewitnesses, they chose not to believe (Lk. 16:31).

In the midst of your problem, praise God for His constant goodness toward you, and see Him deliver you (see Psalm 34:1–4).

Jesus was filled with compassion for the multitudes (Mk 6:34). Today, He looks at you with the same eyes of love and with a compassion beyond measure.

DON’T LOOK AROUND, LOOK UP!

You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above… - Genesis 6:16

If you were to build a large ship, where would you put the windows? Most likely, you would put them at the sides of the ship so that the passengers and crew can look outside, wouldn’t you? God, on the other hand, told Noah to put the window of the ark at the top? God said, “You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above…”

I believe that God didn’t want the ark to have windows at the sides for three reasons. First, God didn’t want Noah and his family to hear all the mockery of the people outside: “Noah’s building a boat on dry land. Silly old man!” Second, He didn’t want Noah and his family to look at all the corruption and pollution on the outside either. Lastly, God didn’t want Noah and his family to look at the death and destruction all around them. He wanted them to look up—toward heaven, toward Him.

My friend, it’s the same for you today. God doesn’t want you to focus on the naysayers, who may mock the dreams that He has birthed in your heart. He doesn’t want you to focus on the death and destruction that’s happening in the world and become afraid. God wants you to look upwards to Him. He is your peace, your provider, your healer, your protection, your refuge—He is your true ark! Keep looking to Jesus and you will be at rest and enjoy His blessings no matter what is happening all around you today!

 A SPECIAL BIRTH
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. —Isaiah 7:14

In the pages of Scripture, several baby-boy births stand out. Cain, the firstborn after creation. Isaac, the hope of Israel’s future. Samuel, the answer to a mother’s fervent prayer. All extremely important. All joyously expected. And all described exactly the same by the chroniclers of Scripture: In each case, we are told that the mother conceived and bore a son (Gen. 4:1; 21:2-3; 1 Sam. 1:20).

Now consider one more baby boy’s birth. The description of this arrival was much more greatly detailed: a few words were clearly not enough to tell of Jesus’ birth. In Micah, we were told where He would be born—Bethlehem (5:2). In Isaiah, that His mother would be a virgin (7:14), and that He was coming to save people from their sin (ch.53).

In the New Testament, we were given such key information as what His name would be and why (Matt. 1:21), where He was born in fulfillment of prophecy (2:6), and how both His birth mother and His adoptive father were part of God’s plan (1:16).
Jesus’ birth stands above all births. His coming changed the world and can change our lives. Let’s celebrate Him!

Mild He lays His glory by,
Born that man no more may die.
Born to raise the sons of earth,
Born to give them second birth.

Christ is the greatest gift known to man.

Arrows in the Hands of a Warrior!

An arrow is small but powerful. Think what our children can do. An arrow must be sharpened well. So must we shape our children. An arrow can travel far. Who knows how far our children will go? An arrow must be aimed in order to hit the target. What are you aiming at?

Archers spend countless hours preparing their arrows. They carefully choose the right piece of wood, cut it precisely to size, then spend hours polishing, shaping, and fitting the feathers and the arrowhead. They carefully aim their arrows because an errant arrow can do great harm. This week I ran across this statement, written over 100 years ago. “Parents must not trifle with their children, like. idiots playing with sharp tools.” I agree. Too many parents trifle with their children then wonder why they don’t turn out well.

You see, arrows are designed to fly. They were never intended to stay in a quiver. The quiver is just a vehicle that carries them until they are ready for release. You might say that arrows were made to be released. They were made to fly. They were made to pierce a target.

So it is with my children. David said, “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.” They were never intended to stay within the four walls of our home. Our home is a merely a means to prepare them and mold them and straighten and balance them. But the time is coming -- coming very soon, in fact -- when they will be released. They were made to fly. They were made to pierce a target.

Our children were designed by their Creator to make an impact on the world. To live for a reason. To set their minds toward a goal. To accomplish a purpose. To count for something in God’s great scheme of things. God once said of Abraham, “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice…” (Genesis 18:19).

Now ultimately; of course, our children are responsible as individuals before their heavenly Father for the flight they take and the mark they make. But I realize that, as a father, as a warrior, I’m also responsible to release those precious arrows to the best of my ability.

FINISHING STRONG :

'I must be about My Father's business.' Luke 2:49 NKJV

If the word ‘quit’ is part of your vocabulary, chances are that the word ‘finish’ isn’t. Finishing means staying on the job until it’s done. It’s about accountability and action, because even when you’re on the right track you’ll get run over if you just sit there. High achievers will tell you that life takes on meaning when you take responsibility for your actions and pursue your goals with purpose and passion. Nothing compares to ‘the rush’ of crossing the finish line. The fact is, nobody remembers who finished second, except the guy who finished second! Co–authors B.J. Gallagher and Steve Ventura said the ten most important words in finishing strong are: ‘I won’t wait for others to take the first step.’ The nine most important: ‘If it is to be, it’s up to me.’ Eight: ‘If not me, who? If not now, when?’ Seven: ‘Let me have a go at it.’ Six: ‘I will not pass the buck.’ Five: ‘You can count on me.’ Four: ‘It IS my job.’ Three: ‘Just do it!’ Two: ‘I will.’ And the most important word: ‘Me.’ Jesus was the greatest finisher of all time. At age twelve, He told His parents, ‘I must be about My Father’s business.’ Later He told His disciples, ‘I must work the works of Him who sent Me.’ (John 9:4 NKJV) Facing the cross, He said, ‘For this cause I was born.’ (John 18:37 NKJV) And just before He died, He said, ‘It is finished!’ (John 19:30 NIV) Then, having earned the right to become our advocate with God, He went back to Heaven and ‘sat down’ (Hebrews 10:12). Mission accomplished! So focus on finishing strong!
