COMFORT

THE GOD OF COMFORT :

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you...” - (Isaiah 66:13, NIV)

Oftentimes, when people face challenges, they seek comfort in things that are familiar. It may be work, an activity, or a relationship; and of course, we all know about “comfort food.” But those things only bring temporary comfort. True comfort is found in a personal relationship with God in heaven through His Son, Jesus.

According to Webster’s dictionary, comfort means to give strength and hope; to ease grief or trouble. No matter what difficulty you may be facing today, God wants to bring you comfort. Like a mother cares for her child, He longs to give you strength, hope and confidence.

Today, make the decision to put Him first in every area of your life. Let go of those things you know are holding you back. Let Him bring you comfort by allowing Him to be Lord over all the areas of your heart. As you surrender to His grace, you will be filled with His peace and joy. You’ll receive His comfort and be empowered to overcome in every area of your life!

SPEAKING THE BLESSING :

“The tongue has the power of life and death...” - (Proverbs 18:21, NIV)

Have you thought about the people in your life who need your blessing? They need your approval. They need to hear you say, “I’m proud of you. You’re going to do great things.” That’s speaking the blessing. That’s releasing favor into their future. When you say to the people you love, “I’m so glad you’re in my life. You mean the world to me,” you just gave them the blessing. When you tell one of your employees, coworkers or a student, “You amaze me with your ability. You have such a bright future,” those are not just nice compliments. When you speak the blessing, you’re releasing God’s wisdom, protection, favor and abundance into their future. You can literally help shape their destiny. One word of encouragement, one word of approval can be what helps them to really step up to who God created them to be.

Today, choose to speak the blessing. Sow good seeds into the lives of the people you love. Remember, what you make happen for others, God will make happen for you. As you sow the blessing, you’ll reap the blessing and experience His victory and favor all the days of your life!

GET RID OF THE PEBBLE IN YOUR SHOE

… let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean… - Hebrews 10:22, NLT

Have you ever walked around with a pebble in your shoe? Even though it’s just a tiny little stone, it affects your ability to keep walking, doesn’t it? Just imagine shopping or sightseeing with a pebble in your shoe. You’re not going to have much fun!

Having sin on your conscience is like having a pebble in your shoe. You can’t really go far in your walk with God. Like the pebble in your shoe, it’ll cause you to stumble and slow you down. Sin constantly pricking your conscience is like the sound of dripping water in the still of the night—it prevents you from getting any rest!

My friend, the only way to find rest for your conscience is to point it to the cross of Jesus. There, every sin that you have and will ever commit was punished in the body of your substitute, Jesus. Because of His sacrifice, all your sins have been forgiven and washed away by His cleansing blood.

Today, you can approach God with boldness and faith because your conscience has been cleansed by Jesus’ blood. The more you believe this truth, the more you’ll walk with a conscience free of the pebbles of sin, and the further you’ll go in your walk with God!

SOMETHING BIG IS COMING YOUR WAY :

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?” - (Isaiah 43:19, NLT)

The God we serve is not a small God. His plan for your life is not for you to reach one level, get stuck and stay there for 30 or 40 years. His plan is to increase you, open new doors before you, and take you places that you’ve never imagined. He has something big in your future! He’s already planned out big breaks, big opportunities and big ideas for you. You may have seen God’s goodness in the past, but you have not touched the surface of what God has in your future! God is about to do a new thing!

And what I sense in my spirit is the new thing is going to be far greater than you’ve ever seen before. It’s going to be bigger than you imagined. It’s going to be more rewarding than you thought possible. Now you’ve got to come into agreement and say, “Yes, God, this is for me today. I’m not going to get stuck where I am. I’m not going to go around with little dreams, little goals. I know You’re a big God, and You have something big coming my way!”

NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR GOD:

‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. - Jeremiah 32:17

Our minds tend to see our problems as big or small. Even when we pray for the sick, we say things like, “You have a headache? No problem. Let’s pray for your healing.” But when it is cancer, we say, “Oh, let’s tell the senior pastor about it. It would be better if he prayed for you.” We think of head-aches as small problems and cancers as big ones.

But that is not the way God thinks. There is nothing too hard for Him who made the heavens and the earth! With God, there is no such thing as a “big” problem. In fact, the “bigger” the problem, the “easier” it is for Him! In the feeding of the 5,000, it took only five loaves to feed the multitude. (Matthew 14:15–21) But in the feeding of the smaller multitude of 4,000, it took seven loaves. (Matthew 15:32–38)

In man’s scheme of things, it should take more loaves to feed more people. But this is not so with God. It took fewer loaves to feed more people. This is God’s way of telling us that the “bigger” the problem, the “easier” it is for Him. I am not saying that small problems are hard for God. But it is so encouraging to think that it is “easier” for God to heal cancers than headaches!

Imagine coming to God with a big problem. “So, what is your problem, son?” God asks. You say, “Father, it is a huge financial debt — not thousands but millions!” He says, “Easy. It is already cancelled.”

In another scenario, God asks, “So, what is your problem, son?” You say, “Father, I have lost my job and I can’t find a new one. I am already in my fifties and I don’t have the necessary qualifications.” He says, “No problem. Consider yourself employed. And in this new job, you won’t just have a job, you will have a position.”

Beloved, with God, it is never a problem because there is nothing too hard for Him!

Thought For The Day :
With God, your problem — small or big — is never a problem because there is nothing too hard for Him!
