MOST ASSUREDLY

Greater Works Shall You Do!

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.  "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14;12-14

Because of the outpouring and the Baptism of the Spirit it is now possible to do greater works than Jesus has done.  As God’s word is true for His true ones:

And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.  And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. Mark 16:15-20

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.  And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.  For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.  And there was great joy in that city. Acts 8:5-8

"how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38

The true Full Gospel of Jesus Christ comes not  with excellence of speech or of wisdom of men  nor  preaching with persuasive words of human wisdom. But it comes in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that the  faith of men  should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

A gospel which is demonstrated and confirmed by signs and wonders following including casting  out demons,  speak with new tongues, dealing with serpents and  laying  hands on the sick, so that they will recover. Something which the early true disciples and Apostles of Jesus did. Something which becomes a reality because of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. As God’s word is true:

Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.  "But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.  "The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ-He is Lord of all-  "that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:   "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

"And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree.  "Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly,  "not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.

"And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins."

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.  And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.  For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

Then Peter answered,  "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?"  And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days. Acts 10:34-48

The evidence that Cornelius and his family and friends had received Christ and believed on His name was that they Holy spirit fell on them and they spoke with tongues and magnified God. As a result they were water baptized because they had received the Holy Spirit just as Peter, Mary, James, John and others had.

Definitely this is a far cry from the basis for water baptism that the Baptist preach and practice instead of the anointing by the Holy Spirit. For they ignore the truth of God’s word which states about Apostle Paul and other brethren:

And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" So they said to him, "We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit."  And he said to them, "Into what then were you baptized?" So they said, "Into John's baptism."

Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus." When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.  And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Acts 19:1-6

Apostle Paul, a tongue speaker along with the other early disciples, laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. But religious ones such as many Baptists ignore the truths and commands of God’s word which states:

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:  You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.  Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.  There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.

And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:  for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,

to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.  For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.  But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.  He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification. 1 Corinthians 14:1-5

So what right do men have to dispense with the things which God has not dispensed with and has commanded that men not be ignorant of but are to purse and desire spiritual gifts and especially to prophesy?

For the gifts of Spirit including the  word of wisdom, the word of knowledge,  faith,   the  gifts of healings, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues, and  the interpretation of tongues is given to each one for the profit of all. As God’s word is true even this day:

But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.  And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.  Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.  And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:24-28

To deny and reject the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit is very foolish. For men who do such kind of things shall not find more light but only darkness. For the rejection of truth only leads into lies and deceivement and deception and not more truth. Apostles and prophets are real and alive today and those who reject their words shall find the words of God to be true for them:

"Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.' " Acts 13:41

Rejections of the blessing of God will not result in greater prosperity but only greater poverty both spiritual and material. Something which men need to consider even this day.  As God’s word is true:

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.  For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.  For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said:  "So I swore in My wrath,  'They shall not enter My rest,' "  although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Hebrew 4:1-3

The true full gospel does not profit those who do not mix with faith the word which has preached to them as they are unbelievers.  Only those who believe do enter the rest of God and signs and wonders follow their preaching.  However God’s word does remain true even about some believers who believe and others who do not believe:

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'  "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

"But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:  "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall." Matthew 7:21-27
