That Woman Jezebel
"And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ' These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: "I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. "Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. "And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. "Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. "I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Revelation 2:18-23
In the house of God across America there are many so called Christians who have not had deliverance from witchcraft, false gifts, divination, etc. and are prophesying, giving words of knowledge or wisdom, and are prophesying lies coming from demons! And when we examine them closely we also see that they practice idolatry. Idolatry is more than worshiping a statute, it can be a person, money, people, yes, even a church or denomination. Anything that comes before God is idolatry. The Jezebel spirit operates in witchcraft. Witchcraft is control, dominance, seduction, etc. It is so powerful that congregations are seduced by this spirit. Most of the time, the people in the congregation cannot see this spirit until they come out from under the teaching, control and dominance of that church and receive deliverance. Divination raises ugly head in the churches today and we see it on television This divination is part of the witchcraft of Jezebel... Prophecies... God's people are going around in utter confusion because of ungodly prophecies that are empty, and fruitless. God’s word is unchanging:
"Tell them therefore, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "I will lay this proverb to rest, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel." But say to them, "The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision. "For no more shall there be any false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel. "For I am the LORD. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and perform it," says the Lord GOD.' " Ezekiel 12:23-25
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, 'Hear the word of the LORD!' " Thus says the Lord GOD: "Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing! "O Israel, your prophets are like foxes in the deserts. "You have not gone up into the gaps to build a wall for the house of Israel to stand in battle on the day of the LORD. "They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, 'Thus says the LORD!' But the LORD has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed. "Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say, 'The LORD says,' but I have not spoken."
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: "Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you," says the Lord GOD. "My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 13:1-13
Many of God’s people are deceived by false prophets and diviners who are in their midst who prophesy falsely to them in God’s name but the Lord has not sent them. They make God’s people to err by promising them nothing solid to sink their teeth in unlike true prophets of God like Elisha who made a poor widow extremely rich by multiplying her oil. God’s people must seek the Lord and His face and not the words of false prophets. God’s word is true:
A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves. " So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil." Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors-empty vessels; do not gather just a few. "And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones." So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest." 2 Kings 4:1-7
Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone. For the idols speak delusion; The diviners envision lies, And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; They are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:1-2
False prophets prophesy what people of itching ears want to hear but they don’t talk about what is on God’s heart including justice, integrity, righteousness and truth. False prophets tell God’s people they must be under a covering of a pastor, but that is part of the Jezebel spirit of control and dominance. False prophets seduce their hearers with divination which is not confirmed by the LORD. We must be lead of the Spirit of God and not by false prophets, diviners, control, domination, idolatry, soothsayers, sorcerers, etc., who enemies of God. But we have church congregations who do not study the Word of God for themselves but trust in the leaders to tell them what the Word says. They allow themselves to be bewitched and seduced by Jezebel leaders. They allow the use the excuse of "good motives" to allow false prophets to operate in the church. They don’t discern that demon spirit operate through the mind and ego of the sorcerer and is carried out by spirits of witchcraft. Mind control spirits work to subject the mind, emotions, will and body to the control and whims of the sorcerer.
It has been said that “Jezebel is sitting in our churches secretly undermining and controlling, and because leaders are afraid of confrontation, she is getting away with it. She is sitting just as she was in the church at Thyatira in Revelation 2:18.” Jezebel, who called herself a prophetess, an avid liar, convincing people of her illegitimate power, was allowed in Thyatira to do whatever she wanted. She was free and unrestrained in that she was even allowed to teach; and by not confronting Jezebel, they also allowed her to seduce--to lead others away from the truth into fornication. Just like the original Jezebel had those who worshipped idols sit at her table and was in control of 850 false prophets, the false Jezebel have their group of false prophets.
It’s unfortunate that many leaders today would rather tolerate Jezebel than allow a Prophet of God into their churches, but it was the very Prophet of God who destroyed Jezebel. Its desire is to paralyze the prophetic flow of God. Jezebels are flourishing in churches; hidden, doing damage because of the fear of the prophetic. Just like on Mount Carmel, where the Spirit of God confronted the spirit of Baal. Fire was called down, and with it brought death to the idol worshipers and their false gods. The Prophets of God are called to destroy the Jezebels. Why did you think Jezebel hated Elijah so much? She wanted him killed. It hates the prophetic flow of God because the prophetic ministry demands repentance and surrendering of the self-will, and cuts away evil with confrontation. She hates the non-compromising voice of a prophet. The prophet brings people back to the cross and back to holiness. It cannot accomplish its plan with a prophet around. Jezebel hates repentance, prayer, humility and it opposes righteousness and the message of the cross.
Yes, God waits for someone to stand up to it--to confront it. Many leaders look at it and say "well, they are working hard in the church." They appear to be supporting leadership. Underneath its mask is a driving force of rebellion and witchcraft. A great weakness of leadership is the fear of confrontation. Leadership just waits and hopes it goes away, or that person moves to another church. Even if Jezebel stays for a short time, that is all that is needed to plant its evil seeds. Yet God’s word is unchanging:
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. "You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Matthew 7:15-16
Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. Hebrews 13:9
But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. Jude 1:5
