The LORD lives!

Blessed

The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted. It is God who avenges me,  And subdues the peoples under me; He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. Psalm 18:46-48

Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.  For the LORD is a God of justice;  Blessed are all those who wait for Him. Isaiah 30:18

Blessed are all those who put their trust in the LORD for He is in the blessing business. He has come to earth to bless men, not to destroy them! If they choose to be destroyed that is their choice, not His! God's the Creator of all life reigns in power, and He is glorious and mighty above all the earth and has the ability and willingness to answer our prayers. If we go outside on a clear night and look up into the sky, we get a visual glimpse of God's power.  We see the stars, the moon, the Milky Way, and other planets.  There are millions of galaxies beyond all that which we don't see.  It is BIG, bigger than our minds can comprehend!  Yet the Bible says that God is outside all of this.  He created it as part of His perfect order of life, and He alone holds it all together. His word is true:

He has made the earth by His power;  He has established the world by His wisdom, And stretched out the heaven by His understanding. Jeremiah 51:15

"And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:13-14

Even so, though He is busy with all creation, still God comes and listens to our prayers!  He knows intimately the desires and burdens of each of us individually.  God is more than able to bring healing, comfort, and provision to every person who cries out to Him, and to give us the desires of our hearts through Jesus Christ.

Jesus left the splendor of heaven to fulfill the Father's will.  Now we can be saved and healed through faith in His name.  He's our Prince of Peace, and through Him we have life. There is power in the name of Jesus, to believe God for all things to be supplied for soul, mind and body in answer to our prayers.  And God has no problem in doing things for His trusting ones just like He did for David whom He made great and gave him victories over his enemies. God’s word is true:

Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward. So David went on and became great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.   Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built David a house. So David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel. 2 Samuel 5:9-12

Now when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went down to the stronghold.  The Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim.  So David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?" And the LORD said to David, "Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand." So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, "The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water." Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim. 2 Samuel 5:17-20

"Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel.  "And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth. 2 Samuel 7:8-9

Later we read in the bible how King David was driven out by his own son Absalom (2 Samuel 15:14). He lost everything he had. Yet, he remained steadfast in his trust in the Lord. But the Lord fought for David. The bible records:

So Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel." For the LORD had purposed to defeat the good advice of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring disaster on Absalom. 2 Samuel 17;14

The people of Israel were overthrown there before the servants of David, and a great slaughter of twenty thousand took place there that day.  For the battle there was scattered over the face of the whole countryside, and the woods devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.   Then Absalom met the servants of David. Absalom rode on a mule. The mule went under the thick boughs of a great terebinth tree, and his head caught in the terebinth; so he was left hanging between heaven and earth. And the mule which was under him went on. 2 Samuel 18:7-9

Absalom ended up in an unusual position, and his head caught in the thick boughs of a great terebinth tree  where he  was left hanging between heaven and earth while the mule which was under him went on. And Joab took three spears in his hand and thrust them through Absalom's heart, while he was still alive. And ten young men who bore Joab's armor surrounded Absalom, and struck and killed him. So, in a miraculous way, God killed Absalom and restored everything David has lost and blessed him in an immeasurable way.

Absalom betrayed his father David, and Jesus was betrayed into the hands of men by Judas!  The bible tells us:

The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born." Matthew 26:24

Who has believed our report?  And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?  For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,  And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him,  There is no beauty that we should desire Him.  He is despised and rejected by men,  A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.  And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;  He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.   Surely He has borne our griefs  And carried our sorrows;  Yet we esteemed Him stricken,  Smitten by God, and afflicted.  But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;  The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,  And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.   He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,  And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,  So He opened not His mouth.  He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living;  For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. Isaiah 58:1-8

Jesus Christ was despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief and understands what it is to be betrayed. And because He has borne our griefs  and carried our sorrows;  smitten by God, and afflicted, was wounded for our transgressions, was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him,  and by His stripes we are healed.  Hence we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:15-16). God’s word is unchanging:

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, "Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you."  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.  For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute.  Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.  This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,  where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:11-20
