JESUS IS YOUR BEST FRIEND

JESUS IS YOUR FRIEND

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,  knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:2-8

Everything that we need in life including life itself we get freely from God by faith, not by works. The new birth and the Baptism of the Spirit which God has freely given us is not the end of the journey but the beginning of our journey with God. Along the way we need many gifts from God, including a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit with the four winds of the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit including love and the gifts of the Spirit including wisdom and miracles, which is wrapped up in the person of Jesus Christ, who became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).

Everything that we need is found in Jesus Christ who is our all, our all sufficient one, and our best friend!  If we have Jesus Christ, we have everything we need. Every problem we have in our life is not the problem because of the lack of finances. It is the problem of the lack of knowing what to do to get it. It's never a money problem. It's an idea problem. When we know what to do and where to go we will always receive. Well we can always go to the Lord and receive from Him prosperity, provision, wisdom and understanding and everything that we need.

Wise King Solomon admonished us to incline our ear to wisdom, apply our heart to understanding, cry out for discernment, and lift up our voice for understanding. We were to seek for them just like one seeks silver, and search for them just as one search for hidden treasures. Then we would understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints.  Then we would understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path (Proverbs 2:1-9).

But wisdom, knowledge, discernment, miracles is all found in the person of the Holy Spirit and His anointing. The bible tells us about the Spirit and anointing that rests upon God’s true ones:

The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,  The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might,  The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.  His delight is in the fear of the LORD,  And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;  But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,  And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;  He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,  And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.  Isaiah 11:2-4

The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high;  He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.  Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times,  And the strength of salvation;  The fear of the LORD is His treasure. Isaiah 33:5-6

Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied. Acts 9:31

If we are going to be successful in the kingdom of God and on earth we need to be filled with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship! We need to ask God to reactivate the gifts that are lying dormant in us or ask Him for new gifts. And God who has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3), is more than willing to make it so and to give us anything that we lack or need. His word is unchanging:

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.  "Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?”Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?  "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:7-11

"Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. "If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?  "And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. "For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things.  "But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:27-32

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.  For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 1:2-4
