FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST

 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW?

Your spiritual maturity is based on you having a revelation of your righteousness through faith in Jesus, not your own work (Hebrews 5:13).
Most Christians think that their righteousness is based on their right doing, but righteousness is based on right believing.
You can’t affect behavior until you change what you believe.
We did not do anything to deserve heaven. Jesus qualified us for heaven and every blessing of good success.
Grace tells us we can have a confident expectation of good and not a fearful expectation of punishment.
We need the Holy Spirit in order to be able to understand the exceeding richness of Jesus’ unmerited favor toward us.

Cursed is the person who trusts in the arm of flesh (Jeremiah 17:5-8).
The blessed person trusts in the Lord, but the cursed person trusts in himself, his own efforts, and his own good works.
Choosing to depend on yourself and rejecting God’s unmerited favor means choosing to make your own effort your strength.
Cursed is the man who leans to the arm of self-effort.
To trust something means to rely or lean upon it.
Religion teaches you that you should lean on yourself and your efforts at becoming righteous instead of leaning on the finished works of Christ.

In Christ we have eternal life (John 14:19; Colossians 3:4; John 10:10).
When you get saved, you receive the life of Christ.
Eternal life is God’s life, without a beginning or an end.
Real salvation is possessing Christ’s life in a physical shell.

By the precious promises of God you can partake of the divine nature of God (2 Peter 1:4).
From the life of Christ proceed the promises of God contained in His Word.
In Christ you have divine access to the promises of God.
To live is Christ and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21).
You have now been enlightened concerning the knowledge of the glory of God that will be made manifest in and through your life (2 Corinthians 4:1-17).
The power of God is of God and not of us.
We carry this power in earthen vessels (our bodies).
While Jesus is taking care of your battles, He also ensures that you are secure on the inside.
In the midst of our weaknesses, God’s life will be manifested in our mortal flesh.

How to Train Your Spirit to Be Led by the Holy Spirit:
You must feed on God’s Word to be able to distinguish His voice.
Make sure that you are serious about walking in love.
When you walk in the spirit of love, you walk in the spirit of God.
            Practice forgiveness.
        Pray in tongues every day.
Praying in tongues is one of the best ways to develop your spirit. It helps your mind become quiet.
        Acknowledge God’s presence every day.

God died for the ungodly (Romans 5:6).
Jesus died for us because of His love for us.
We are saved from the wrath to come; therefore, we can rejoice and be of good cheer (vv. 8, 9).

Jesus paid the price for our reconciliation and deliverance (v. 10).
If you place a demand on God’s Word, all things are possible.
No more limits; God will supply all of your demands.
The blood of Jesus doesn’t just atone for our sins; it cleanses us of them completely (v. 11).

Don’t ever turn away from the truth that you are made righteous by faith in Christ.
Your faith in Christ determines your spiritual position.
The blessing is not made available to you because of your good deeds; it is through what Jesus did that it is available to you.
Being made righteous causes you to rule and reign in life.
Holiness is a fruit of righteousness.
            Grace is the root.
Your acceptance of this grace causes you to be made righteous.
            Righteousness will produce holiness.
Sin entered the world through Adam (v. 12).
Every human being is born into sin because of what Adam did.
The gift of righteousness came by faith in one man, Jesus Christ (v. 17).
You will rule and reign like a king when you receive the gift of righteousness.
To receive means to take it into your possession.
Don’t let go of the gift of righteousness. The devil will constantly attack your identity.
Just as it wasn’t fair that everyone should have to be born into sin because of what one man did, neither is it fair for us to be made righteous (v. 19). Even still, God’s love for us made this possible.

Sin has natural consequences, but it won’t unravel your righteous.

    Wisdom is the principle thing.
When you embrace wisdom, it will exalt you.
        Wisdom anoints you with grace.

Be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9, 10).
Praying in tongues is a key to tapping into the hidden wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 2:6-16).
When you pray in tongues, you speak hidden wisdom and secrets that are hidden from the devil, but hidden for your edification (1 Corinthians 14:2-16).
When you pray in tongues, you also pray about things you don’t even know about.
Spending time praying in tongues every day is only going to benefit you.
The prayer language of tongues is a grace gift.
The Holy Spirit will give you inside information.
Praying in tongues will make you smarter.

Two keys to receiving the finished works of Jesus Christ:
        Believe and acknowledge
Believing eventually demands a confession. You always speak what you believe.
Your belief and acknowledgement is the protocol for withdrawing the finished works of Christ out of the spiritual realm and into the natural.
Many times we block God because of our lack of understanding.
Positioning ourselves to receive the finished works of Christ is everything.
The only way to experience the manifestation of the power of God is by walking in the Spirit.

You must remain fixed on the Word of God in order to walk in the Spirit.
You must believe in something that has no proof in the physical realm.
Your body only trusts what the five senses tell it; however, your spirit believes the Word of God.
Trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all your ways (Proverbs 3:5, 6).
As you acknowledge God, He will lead you on paths that unlock His promises, releasing the finished works of Christ into your life.
Submit your life daily to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit knows how to turn every negative situation around.
Keep your mind focused on God, and He will keep you in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).
Trust God enough to lean on Him and rely on Him confidently in all situations and circumstances.
Peace always comes when you stay focused on Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is a truth-giving spirit. He will always say what the Father says (John 16:12-15).
The Holy Spirit never speaks His own message, only the Father’s message to you.
The Spirit of God knows about your future.
He will lead and guide you into all truth.

There are spiritual blessings stored up for us in the spirit realm. The Word of God gives us access to our spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3).
The Word is like a mirror; it shows us who we are and what we have according to God’s plan.
The recreated spirit of man believes the Word; the body believes the physical senses.
The un-renewed mind also believes the senses.
When a person believes with his heart (or spirit), he makes a decision to believe God’s Word, despite his physical circumstances (Proverbs 3:5).
When we walk in the spirit, we walk in the Word. However, we can’t believe the Word if we don’t know the Word.
Faith brings our spiritual blessings into physical manifestation.

God gives us knowledge when we don’t know what to do; it’s called revealed knowledge. Peter, whose name was Simon, received revelation from the Father about Jesus’ true identity (Matthew 16:13-18).
Jesus then called him Peter, which means “a piece of a rock” because of the revelation he received.
The revelation didn’t come from Peter’s mind but directly from God.
Feelings are the voice of the body. Reasoning is the voice of the mind. Conscience is the voice of the spirit.
The conscience is often described as a “hunch” or a nudge inside of us.
The Holy Spirit speaks the truth to our spirits; He reveals to us knowledge that exceeds our natural understanding (Proverbs 4:27; John 16:13, 14, AMP).
Jesus said He will build His Church through revelation knowledge. When we receive revelation from God, the gates of hell cannot overpower it (Matthew 16:18).
Jesus said He will give us the keys to how the kingdom operates. Revelation knowledge is wisdom; it enables us to succeed in the kingdom of God.
When we spend time with Him, we will know Him (John 10:27).

Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings to receive wisdom (1 Kings 3:3-9, AMP).
Solomon understood that he needed wisdom.
He positioned himself to hear; he had a desire to acquire wisdom that came from God.
“Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth” (Proverbs 4:5).
We can receive the wisdom we need through the Word of God (Proverbs 4:6-13).
Wisdom brings many benefits, such as promotion, honor, direction, and solutions for life.

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter; that he may abide with you forever” (John 14:16).
The Holy Spirit is also called the Holy Ghost, the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth (John 14:15-26).
When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to live within us.
He abides in our recreated spirits and teaches us all the things we need to know in order to live successfully.
He guides us into all truth; He gives us knowledge about the future (John 16:5-13).
Man is a tri-part being—he is a spirit, possesses a soul (mind, will, emotions, and personality), and lives in a physical body.
Feelings are the voice of the flesh. Reasoning is the voice of the soul. The conscience is the voice of the human spirit.
At the point of salvation, the spirit is the only part of man that is born again (recreated or made new).
The Holy Spirit uses our spirits to guide us. For example, whenever we get a “hunch” or our conscience is bothering us, it is really the Holy Spirit trying to tell us something.
He is often volunteering information that we ignore due to our busy schedules.
To become more sensitive to His leading, we can acknowledge Him by talking to Him and praying in the Spirit.
We can also read and study the Word while asking Him for guidance. The Word is spiritual.

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6, AMP).

When we trust the Lord with our hearts, we trust Him with our spirits.
The “heart” in the scripture above is not referring to a physical heart but a spiritual heart. The heart is the core of us—it’s the hidden, spirit man.
The spirit man agrees with and believes the Word.
When we believe with our spirits, our belief surpasses what we see in the natural, physical world.
Instead, we believe the Word, which is spiritual reality.
The Lord wants to guide us into His predestined path for us. He wants us to take certain instructions and directions from Him to lead us into that path.
The Holy Spirit is a great teacher; He knows the direction we should take in every situation.
With mere human understanding, we will go in a way that seems right, but at the end of that way lies destruction.
We can avoid following the wrong paths in life, by acknowledging the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance in every situation we face.
He uses our born-again (recreated) spirits to guide us.
For instance, whenever we get a “hunch,” it is the recreated spirit within us (along with the Holy Spirit) trying to get our attention.
The Holy Spirit may not tell us all the details whenever we face something, but it is important that we follow the “hunches.”
The best way we can practice following the Holy Spirit is by positioning ourselves by spending time in prayer, studying, and meditating on the Word.

The Gospel of Christ is the grace of Christ; there is no other gospel (Romans 1:1-16, Galatians 1:3-7, AMP).
We are saved by grace; salvation includes more than the born-again experience. Our salvation includes our deliverance, healing, and prosperity (Ephesians 2:8).
Everything we need has already been made available to us through the finished works of Jesus Christ.
His unmerited favor empowers us to receive His finished works, not our own strength.
Faith is a positive response to what Jesus has already done.
We do not use faith in order to make God do anything we want Him to do.
Faith only appropriates what has been made available under the redemptive plan of Jesus Christ.
Faith is the way in which we take possession of what Jesus has already done.

We do not have to be flawless or behave perfectly to receive all that Jesus has done. However, we do have to believe (Mark 11:22, 23).
“For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23).
We believe with our hearts (or our spirits).
We believe with our spirits when we believe the Word despite what our senses are telling us.
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10).
We believe with our hearts, confess with our mouths, and see the results with our eyes.
We live by the Word of God; in other words, we make our living by receiving and believing the Word (Matthew 4:4).

Renewing the mind is a lifetime commitment to align our thoughts with God’s Word.
It is a process by which our thoughts, beliefs, and opinions agree with God.
We cannot transform our thinking if we do not read His Word.
When we value His Word, we will not find it difficult to spend time studying and meditating on it.
When we became born-again, our spirits became new; however, our souls and bodies remained unchanged (2 Corinthians 5:17, 18, AMP).
“Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17, AMP).
The spirit of man becomes new as a result of the born-again experience; however, the mind has to be renewed with the Word.
Renewing the mind requires an investment of time.

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5).
When we became born-again, our spirits became so holy and pure that God Himself can dwell within us.
When God poured His love in us, He poured Himself in us; for God is love.
We are not disappointed or ashamed when we recognize that love dwells within us.
With His presence, we have His ability, His might, and the divine comprehension of true, unconditional love.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
There exist two realms running concurrently—the spiritual and physical realms.
The physical realm is just a materialization of the spiritual world.
We have everything (all spiritual blessings) we will ever need in this life—within our born-again spirits.
We should believe that we have those spiritual blessings even though we don’t immediately see them.
The Word of God is a mirror into the spirit realm; we see our spiritual blessings by looking into the mirror of the Word.

“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” (Philemon 1:6).
Our faith begins to work when we acknowledge every good thing we have in Christ.
“Acknowledging every good thing” doesn’t describe merely confessing the Word but also admitting that we are convinced that we have spiritual blessings within us.
