HEALTH AND HONOR

"Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said: "Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever.  Yours, O LORD, is the greatness,  The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;  Yours is the kingdom, O LORD,  And You are exalted as head over all.  Both riches and honor come from You,  And You reign over all.  In Your hand is power and might;  In Your hand it is to make great  And to give strength to all.   "Now therefore, our God,  We thank You And praise Your glorious name. 2 Samuel 29:10-12

It’s a fact that many people who find themselves poor, sick, and needy create a theology that God doesn’t heal, bless and prosper people today rather than admitting that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever! But David acknowledged that riches, honor, power, might, strength, greatness, victory, honor, healing, deliverance and every good thing comes from the Lord. And David was not talking through his head but from his heart as the Lord had given to him everything that had belonged to King Saul including his house, wives and the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, He would have given David much more! (2 Samuel 12:8) God’s word is unchanging:

Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Matthew 4:24

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities  And bore our sicknesses." Matthew 8:16-17

Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.  And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity."   And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. Matthew 13:10-13

When they brought to Jesus  all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics, He healed them. The Word of God tells us that this woman’s sickness was caused by a spirit of infirmity for eighteen year! But Jesus is greater than any demon, sickness, poverty, lack or mountain and He laid hands on her and healed her. Yes Jesus spent a lot of time casting demons out of people who were sick and told His disciples to do the same:

"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Mark 16:17-18

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:14-16

Yes, God has provided on Calvary victory over every problem and demon including sickness, poverty, and lack. Jesus became cursed so that we would not be cursed or ruled by the elements of this earth but rather we would rule all things. He became poor so that we might become rich.  Jesus restored to us the dominion God gave to Adam in the garden and we can speak to all our mountains and tell them to move into the sea. God’s word is unchanging:

And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.  Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"  So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.  "However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting." Matthew 17:18-21

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,  from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,  that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-  to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,  to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

Yes, God gives to His people just for the asking in faith believing according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus all that they need as demonstrated in the life of David who asked of God much and received much.  He pours Spirit upon them from on high, and as a result the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is counted as a forest.   Then justice dwells in the wilderness, and righteousness remains in the fruitful field. The work of righteousness becomes peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. As a result God’s people dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. God’s word is unchanging:

On the land of my people will come up thorns and briers, Yes, on all the happy homes in the joyous city;  Because the palaces will be forsaken,  The bustling city will be deserted. The forts and towers will become lairs forever, A joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks- Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,  And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,  And the fruitful field is counted as a forest.   Then justice will dwell in the wilderness,  And righteousness remain in the fruitful field. The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.  My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation,  In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,  Though hail comes down on the forest, And the city is brought low in humiliation. Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, Who send out freely the feet of the ox and the donkey. Isaiah 32:13-20

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
