RESTITUTION

Today Salvation Has Come

"Blessed is the Lord God of Israel,  For He has visited and redeemed His people, And has raised up a horn of salvation for us  In the house of His servant David, As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets,  Who have been since the world began,  That we should be saved from our enemies  And from the hand of all who hate us, Luke 1:68-71

"But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, "the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.  "And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. "But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.  Luke 12:45-48

Some religious fools have stated that since There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1) they are free to say and do whatever they want whenever they want! Now this might sound true but the Words of Jesus stand up above the words of men and some of His servants will cut him in two and their portion appointed with the unbelievers, others, who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes and  that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

We are instructed to walk in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit and to trust in the LORD with all our heart, lean not on our own understanding,  be not wise in your own eyes, but fear the LORD and depart from evil. God’s word is unchanging:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;  In all your ways acknowledge Him,  And He shall direct your paths.  Do not be wise in your own eyes;  Fear the LORD and depart from evil.  It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.  Honor the LORD with your possessions,  And with the firstfruits of all your increase;  So your barns will be filled with plenty,  And your vats will overflow with new wine.  My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,  Nor detest His correction;  For whom the LORD loves He corrects,  Just as a father the son in whom he delights. Proverbs 3:5-12

For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.  For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.  But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. 1 Corinthians 11:30-32

Those who say they are Christians and don’t walk in the fear of the Lord but do evil shall not find mercy and grace to help in time of need by rather sickness and chastening and even death. When God’s judgments are upon you for offending or hurting your brother it’s not sufficient to repent before God but to ask for forgiveness of the offended party just like Jesus instructed:

"But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire. "Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, "leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.  "Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.  "Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny. Matthew 5:22-26

"Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. Luke 17:3

Many sick and afflicted ones are running around the country seeking healing and deliverance from doctors or preachers but have not determined the root cause of their problem including the fact that they have not repented from being angry with a brother without a cause or causing offenses to others. But Jesus told them:

"Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!  "If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.  "And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire. Matthew 18:7-9

In other words their salvation is dependent on their restoration and restitution for their offenses otherwise salvation will not come to them for God’s word is unchanging:

Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.  Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.  So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.  And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house."  So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner." Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold."  And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; "for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:1-9
