So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. John 19:13
On the cross Jesus Christ finished the total salvation package for man. We add nothing to it but only accept by faith what Christ has done for us including forgiveness of all our iniquities and healing of our bodies and deliverance from all our enemies. Yes, on the Cross Jesus Christ did the great exchange. He exchanged His sinlessness for our sins, His righteousness for our unrighteousness, His strength for our weakness, His boundless supply for our needs, His stripes for our healing, His riches for our poverty, His victories for our defeats, His triumphs for our disappointments, His glory for our shame, His Honor for our nothingness, His prosperity for our lacks, His joy for our sadness, and His fullness for our emptiness. And now Christ lives in us. Victory Himself lives in us! All that Christ is and has now belongs to us and lives in us! God’s word is unchanging:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12
Because Christ now lives in us, He is free to do greater works through us. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is free to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we as pray or think as we yield to that power. We are now vessels of the mightiest power in the universe. God’s word is unchanging:
Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come-all are yours. And you are Christ's, and Christ is God's. 1 Corinthians 3:21-23
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed- always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you. And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. 2 Corinthians 4:7-14
Because we belong to Christ and Christ belongs to us we can approach the Father in Jesus name and ask Him to do all things for us. God is God, and He will always be God. He is faithful and true. There is no higher power. He is on the throne and performing mighty miracles in our day. Whatever we need for soul, mind or body, God can deliver. God can do what no other power can do. He can save the lost, heal the sick and set the captives free. God is still Almighty God! We can trust God to do the miraculous for our loved ones and us! His word is true:
"And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:13-14
"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16
Through the Holy Spirit, the Greater One lives within us and He gives all the wisdom, strength, power and provision we need to be more than conquerors. As a result we can see and enjoy the same miracles and perfect protection and provision that the disciples had at Jesus hand. When Peter's mother-in-law was sick of a deadly fever Jesus cured her instantly and the Holy Spirit is able to do the same for us! The same Holy Spirit who was hovering, waiting to create and then the moment God spoke the Word, "Light be!" the Spirit sprang into action and slung this universe into being is available to move on our behalf. God’s word is unchanging:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. Genesis 1:1-5
So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the LORD of hosts. 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!" ' " Zechariah 4:6-7
The Holy Spirit who is the muscle of God is willing to be invited to move all our mountains into the sea and to manifest God's power in all our negative circumstances just like when He came on Samson, and enabled him single-handedly to kill a thousand Philistine soldiers (Judges 15:14-16). Samson was really just an ordinary fellow. He only became extraordinary when the Spirit of God came on him. And the same about us we become extraordinary and a powerhouse. The Holy Spirit is everything in us that He has ever been. He has awesome power and astounding ability to compute, to comprehend and plan in infinite detail everything that has ever been...everything that now is...and everything that ever will be! And when we run into something we can't handle we can call on Him for help! He's not a million light years away. He's right there inside us! He's ready to supply us with whatever we need. He's ready to be our comforter. Ready to be our teacher and our trainer. Ready to be our advocate, our standby, our counselor. He's ready to put His supernatural muscle and mind to work for us 24 hours a day. But He is a perfect gentleman who will not help us unless we invite Him to work on our behalf! He is ready to move on God's Word and deliver the power necessary to cause that Word to manifest in the earth. That's what He did at creation...and that's what He is commissioned to do for us as our helper. He stands ready to give us plans, ideas and inventions. He stands ready to open doors of opportunity and then to give us the strength and ability to walk through them. And we Him we can say:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord Luke 4:18-19
