The Lord Comforts Those Who Mourn
To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified." Isaiah 61:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
As the grass withers and dies so does man’s love but God’s love remains forever? But men are wrong. They live by their own philosophies and truths that have nothing to do with God. Left to their vain imaginings, they pay the price for it in due season. Yes, God is a longsuffering God. He suffers the abuses and wrong attitudes of men for long periods of time. However, at the end of it He turns hearts to stone and harden them for destruction just like He did with Pharaoh of Egypt. God is merciful but He is also judgmental. He will not strive with men forever. They must turn from their ways or He will bring destruction upon them. They are so foolish as to imagine that the illness they see around them is not as a direct result of their disobedience. It is! God has told man how to think and live properly. Yet, they chose to walk in their own ways, attitudes and philosophies resulting in their own personal destruction and then they wonder why it is happening to them.
Man always thinks better of himself than is really there. There is nothing inherently good in man. He is corrupt, selfish, evil thinking and totally sinful before God. God alone can cleanse and heal him. He alone can change things for good. Good is from me not him, but man wants to walk in his self-righteousness. Such is the way of man. Man is and always forever will be innately evil. He has chosen that path and the carnal man is on that path to stay. The only possible change or intervention that can take place is if God steps in and change things. This He did when He brought Jesus into the World. He brought hope and possible change to everyone in the world. However, only those who really want to change will change. The rest won’t. Sad to say but true! Therefore, the world is at odds with God’s. They will not love or accept them. They will laugh at them and revile them. But, only if they open the door can they hurt theirs. The choice is yours.
The true Christian walk is an easy walk but difficult for those of the flesh. The flesh is afraid of the truth bring light in and exposing the dark attitudes and thoughts that need changing. The flesh’s greatest desire is not to be wrong. It needs to be right, to be justified, to be glorified, to be loved and admired. It is proud and selfish. However, the truth is without the light it will remain in darkness and never see the real truth and the real facts. The real facts are spiritual ones. They are not physical or bodily ones. True reality is not the world or its ways or beliefs. Reality is Jesus Christ and the King of Heaven. Reality is the spiritual laws in place and ruling the universe right now. Reality is the covenant He has made with man and the promises He will never break. For men of ‘virtual reality’ they have seen the ‘light’ and the dawning of a new day has come to them with all the power and knowledge that it brings. For them is true liberty and wisdom and strength from above for Reality is Christ!
The ways of men are many and varied. Each thinks he is right, in his own eyes. God has not allowed man to go beyond Him. He cannot survive without God. God in Christ Jesus is the only source for true happiness, peace, rest and wisdom. Man thinks many things but they are not of God’s and his thoughts lead him into much pain and suffering. However, this has been man’s choice and although life may not turn out as we desire it need not be so full of tribulation if they would simply trust God to deal with things that come up and follow His teachings to the letter. There is life in His instructions and healing to their bones if they will only follow His precepts and statutes.
So why does man continue in hardship and pain because he doesn’t really believe God can do this. He doesn’t believe God can change his circumstances if he will only believe in Him and turn to Him totally. But, God can and He will. He would love to change everything to good to them who love Him. It is true God has walked in His integrity before men even though they have not desired to believe He is able. Such is the ways of men. They will always walk in themselves rather than trust their redeemer.
The answer is Jesus Christ. The answer is a hunger for reality. The answer is the right kind of prayers prayed that brings God’s power on the scene and reverses the curses and heals the wounds and changes the events and attitudes of men. Only this is possible through prayer and My power. Man proposes but God disposes. He doesn’t desire judgment for people despite the fact they may deserve it. He desires that men accept Him and walk in faith in Him producing real healing and change for themselves and all those around them. This produces greater faith and greater healing and change. It becomes a continuous healthy cycle if one perseveres as He commanded everyone to do. To listen and to hear what the Spirit, not man, is saying to God’s people. Man says ‘a little dab will do you’ and God says ‘run the race to win,’ go for the gold, for man is an overcomer through Christ Jesus. Who’s the better advocate? Who’s the greater friend? Who’s the one who loves man? The great I Am.
Man will always find a reason why something can’t be done or what can possibility come up to hinder him. Man is stopped by the obstacles and circumstances that can possibly come up. The path of lease resistance is the path he will follow because he doesn’t desire the harder path, even though it may be the better path, because he doesn’t desire to work or fight too hard for what he wants in life. However, the best rarely comes without hard work. One must work at becoming the best one can be in God in order to achieve higher plains of understanding and service to Him. Not outward working but inward working. Working at a deep relationship with the Father above. This brings the true reward of a satisfying walk in spiritual and ultimately physical successes. That is, if one’s spiritual relationship with the Lord is right than the outward manifestations of personal relationships, involvement's of time and money and financial success will come as a natural outcome of a right position with the Father above.
Man must deal with question is he walking in right relationship with God and if not why not? The true measure of real success is not in how many dollars are in a bank account but whether can Lord can to man ‘well done, thou good and faithful servant.’ As important to our existence as the former is, the latter is still preferable because this is the measure of true success. Without it life has no meaning or purpose and missing the greater value of living with Him through eternity.
Man must use his faith and the authority which God has given him. He is not to listen to the devil who will tell man that something good is not going to happen. That all the good is not coming. This is a lie from the pits of hell and untrue in the worst way because God is able to save and set man free and give him the land He had promised him.
The enemy only has lies to rely on. He only has man’s feelings to play on. He only has as much as man gives him. So man must give him nothing. Man has to fight that’s true. But the fight is for the change of man’ s circumstances and it will coming through. Just as the Red Sea parted, as the walls of Jericho fell, as the Walls of Jerusalem were raised, as the miracle baby Isaac came forth, as the miracle of God born in the flesh came forth in Jesus so the miracle God’s true one desire will come forth. A creative spectacular miracle, an impossibility! Because all that is impossible is possible with God.
Men are full of their own half-understandings. You see the evidence of their false beliefs everywhere. The church is impotent, cold, powerless, weak, sick and fractured. Christians behave in a worldly, secular fashion that has nothing to do with God and His true desires for them. The world’s system may carry on in its own cold way but God is in control of it all despite what it looks like. He is totally in charge always! Nothing ever happens to His own trusting ones by accident. There is no such thing were their are concerned. God is Sovereign and men are His subjects even though He has given them a degree of freedom. They have the freedom to make certain choices beyond that they have no choice. They then are ordained to do what He desires them to fulfill and do according to His plans and purposes in the spiritual framework He has given the earth to operate in.
Man is never totally ‘Free’ to do all on his heart. This world would be in total chaos if that were true because he is very evil on his own. God’s Holy Spirit has often restrained man and his corrupt intentions. God has thwarted man’s plans by super-imposing His own purposes and plans onto his. Man may never acknowledge this but it doesn’t change the fact that God was always in the center of man’s actions. If this were not true the world would be in far worse shape than it already is.
God has supernaturally restrained the corruption in the world. He will not let the world hurt true ones more than it has. God is in control of the universe and how it treats His own. The enemy is restrained. He can only do so much and no more. He knows that but he hopes man don’t know that so he can fool men into thinking he is more powerful than he ever really is. That fact is, Satan is not powerful at all. He is defeated and powerless.
So God’s true ones must walk as heirs of God and continue to serve Him as good Christian soldiers. God will provide all they need according to His abundant riches in heaven and earth. They are to loose it in His name because it is all and always was theirs. Stand and call it forth. It is all theirs - the opportunities, the friendships, the ministry, the gifts, the victory, the harmony, the finances, the prosperity and much, much, much more. All that is wonderful and good is theirs in Christ Jesus. The joy, peace, compassion, harmony, wisdom, discretion, discernment, justice, righteousness, truth and abundance. It is all within them. Innately it is already theirs. They are to walk in their abundance because He has given to His beloved children the Kingdom. It is all theirs. They are to walk in it with love always from their Heavenly Father!
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11
