Impudent And Stubborn Children
And He said to me, "Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you." Then the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard Him who spoke to me. And He said to me: "Son of man, I am sending you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have transgressed against Me to this very day. "For they are impudent and stubborn children. I am sending you to them, and you shall say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD.' "As for them, whether they hear or whether they refuse-for they are a rebellious house-yet they will know that a prophet has been among them. Ezekiel 2:1-5
God, who has His own wisdom and logic that is beyond our understanding as dust mites, commands His prophets to speak to His people whether they hear or whether they refuse do that they will know that a prophet has been among them. His word is unchanging:
"But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake. "But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. "Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; "for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. "You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. "And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. "But not a hair of your head shall be lost. "By your patience possess your souls. Luke 21:12-19
Yes, all of God’s anointed children are prophets called to give a testimony before others by the power and the wisdom of the Lord of what God has done for them. And as a result some will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some to death. God’s word is unchanging:
Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Revelation 2:10)
For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us, (2 Corinthians 1:8 -10)
We are not to look at situations, mountains and problems but up to God and not trust in ourselves but in Him who is faithful. In Him who has delivered us before, who is delivering us now and who will deliver us continually. We are to stop looking back to the past. What is past is past. We are to speak only of the good things that God is about to bring to pass. We are to speak of the lovely things He has promised us in His spoken and written Words. God is in charge of our life and He will bring it all to pass as He has promised and said. He will be right on schedule. Not too soon and not too late. He has His reasons and purposes for everything and especially His timing. We will not only see it change, but will have our answers, good things, miracles and victories in the due season. All the good things of Heaven are ours here on earth. We are to draw on them. We are to draw on them and we will have them. We are to ask Him and they are ours. We are to keep on asking, keep on trusting, keep on and we will have as we persevere. For this is what Jesus said:
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. "Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? "Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:7-12)
Of course, we are going to suffer and be misunderstood and criticized by others. But we don’t serve those others, we serve God? He is the One who is going to reward us and to reward the others. What counts is our faithfulness, hearing, understanding, perseverance, and persistence to prevail over all things so that we may win the prize and receive what has been promised to us by God? Jesus told us:
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, "who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. (Matthew 7:44-46)
The Kingdom of heaven is worth sacrificing and giving up all that we have for it is the pearl of great price. We live only one life and walk through this world once. What we do with and how we react to the Words of the Kingdom will determine many things for us in the future both good and bad. However, we aren’t to fool ourselves as Jesus told us:
"A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house." Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief. (Matthew 13:57-69)
God will bless us mightily if we are faithful to Him alone. He will provide new friends, gifts, miracles, and anointing on us. He will bless us abundantly with wholeness, healings, peace, joy and many graces and blessings. Then when we come home to Him, it will be to a welcoming home party of friends and relatives who love Him as we do. We will come in honor and great glory for we have been faithful unto death. We can trust Him to whom we have given our all - the One whose faithfulness is unlimited and never ending. His word is true:
"May the LORD repay every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the LORD delivered you into my hand today, but I would not stretch out my hand against the LORD'S anointed. (1 Samuel 26:23)
Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. (Psalms 36:5)
God’s promises are inherited through “faith and patience” and “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God." Hence we are to received the Word of God and allow nothing to dislodge it from our hearts including persecution, trouble and tribulation. Jesus told His disciples to hear the parable of the sower of how the Word of God is sown into the hearts of men and depending upon the soil the same seed produces different results. He told them:
"When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. "But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; "yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
"Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. "But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty." (Matthew 13:19-23)
The phrase ”endures only a while” for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the Word immediately He stumbles” are noteworthy. As well as, “the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches” choke the word of those who hear it and it becomes unfruitful. However, the faithful one who hears the Word and understands it bears fruit and produces good works. Now many have been taught that God will fulfill His Word no matter what but this is not what Jesus told us. The hearer and receiver of the Word plays an important part in the outcome of the sown and given Word.
As a result of these Words of the Kingdom trials, testing and persecution will come. Many times it won’t be pleasant and it will cause suffering and lack. Consequences result from the decisions people make in life. Many times circumstances arise due to faith in God and it brings hardship and lack. However, when the season is over the hardship is over and lack vanishes away. It vanishes away as vapors of steam before the sun because God is faithful. He is not going to let us down. So ignorance is not bliss. Not understanding the Word of God reveals a lot of things about ourselves. How far we are from God? The shallowness of our faith and our priorities in life. The things that make up our faith and are important to us such as the world, flesh and the devil. The depth of our persistence, determination and patience. However, on the other side of the coin:
And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:12-15)
And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. (Revelation 21:24-27)
Not all names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Some names have been removed. They have been blotted out by Jesus because they defiled their garments and weren’t worthy to walk with Him. They didn’t overcome all things but were overcome by those things. They didn’t have an ear to hear the Words of the Kingdom:
The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the LORD is His treasure. Isaiah 33:5-6
"You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." (Revelation 3:3-6)
