Do Not Share In Other People's Sins

Do Not Share In Other People's Sins

For there is no partiality with God. Romans 2:11

Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people's sins; keep yourself pure. No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.  Some men's sins are clearly evident, preceding them to judgment, but those of some men follow later.  Likewise, the good works of some are clearly evident, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden. 1 Timothy 5:22-25

It’s very easy in so many ways to share in other people’s sins.  A person comes to you and tells you how awful a stranger is or how good he is, when it’s nothing but a lie. Now you have formed an opinion of the stranger without really knowing him at all and become prejudiced towards him and show partiality as a result. But one of the great characteristics about God is that He is no respecter of persons and shows partiality to no one. All His righteous children are equal before Him especially when it comes to rewards. God’s word is unchanging:

Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,  with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men,  knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.  And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. Ephesians 6:5-9

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,  knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.  But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality. Colossians 3:23-25

Many of God’s people sin in showing partiality to others and as a result they died needless premature death as a result of the real judgment of God that comes upon their lives. They don’t judge themselves and don’t see they sins they have committed as a result God’s has no choice but to deal with them just like He dealt with Korah, Dathan and Abiram. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, but they said, "We will not come up!  "Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should keep acting like a prince over us?  "Moreover you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up!"   Then Moses was very angry, and said to the LORD, "Do not respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, nor have I hurt one of them.  Numbers 16:12-15

Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.  For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.  For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.  For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. 1 Corinthians 11:27-31

Sincerity and presumption don’t save you if you drive through a red light at a busy intersection? Similarly many of God’s people because are weak and sick and even die prematurely because they are not discerning and have fought with people whom God has not allowed them to fight, just like Korah, Dathan and Abiram did with Moses and Aaron. So when Moses prayed his angry prayer and told the Lord not to accept their offering, the Lord did just that. He did not hear accept their offerings but did a new thing. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

So the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,  "Speak to the congregation, saying, 'Get away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.' "

Then Moses rose and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him.  And he spoke to the congregation, saying, "Depart now from the tents of these wicked men! Touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins."

So they got away from around the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, their sons, and their little children.  And Moses said: "By this you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them of my own will.  "If these men die naturally like all men, or if they are visited by the common fate of all men, then the LORD has not sent me.  "But if the LORD creates a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the LORD."

Now it came to pass, as he finished speaking all these words, that the ground split apart under them,  and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men with Korah, with all their goods.  So they and all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly.  Then all Israel who were around them fled at their cry, for they said, "Lest the earth swallow us up also!" And a fire came out from the LORD and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were offering incense. Numbers 16:23-35

"The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up 1 Samuel 2:6

There are those foolish ones who believe that God has changed and say He doesn’t kill people today and bring them down to the grave even though God’s word tells clearly tells them:

But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. Jude 1:5

"And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, '  These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass:  "I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.  "Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.  "And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. "Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.  "I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Revelation 2:15-23
